The major shall carry out all the duties prescribed by the bylaws and ordinance of the municipal corporation. He shall see that all ordinance, bylaws, and resolutions of the legislative authority are faithfully obey and enforced. He shall sign all commissions, license, and permits granted by such legislative authority, and such other instruments as by directive or ordinances require his pass.
