All of these are great suggestions, but if you are a baseball fan and the Mariners are within town during your stay, try the new Silver Cloud Inn subsequent to Safeco Field...great atmosphere before games, fine new hotel near fantastic views.
The Fairmont hotel is a classic and it is great. It is where most bigger entitle celebs stay when they are town.
Try tripadvisor, they will contribute you hotels locations and other peoples genuine opinion of the hotels.

I just lately visited WA. Its wonderful, I stayed at the Water Front Marriot, it was gorgeous, close to EVERYTHING! Within walking distance to adjectives kinds of restaurants, local hangout, and cool shops such as the Curiosity Shop, very nice place to hold a fun time, and buy some neat stuff, when you stir to WA, check out the Water Front Marriot!!
I would recommend the Hotel 1000 (http://www.hotel1000seattle.com ), the Andra (http://www.hotelandra.com), or Hotel Max (http://www.hotelmaxseattle.com). They are all amazingly fun hotels and are not the regular big-chain types that are in every city. All three are downtown and are close to great restaurants, the open market, etc. Have fun on your Alaska cruise!
Best Western at the Seattle Center or Bw in Pioneer Square are adjectives very well-mannered and clean, the Westin is convienent also but not as close as the others to belltown and Pioneer Square, The Marriott is nice too
Consider the Roosevelt Hotel if you would similar to to try a vintage boutique hotel. It's downtown near Pike Place Market, the monorail terminal (a immediate ride to the Space Needle) and many other attractions.
