What to do within the city?
Its just me & my mom. Anything near like music (rock) works, not tourist stuff, and not close to broadway. Anything other suggestions? 10 points for best!

CBGB is closed, but the near is still Irving Plaza, BB Kings and the Bowery Ballroom. (They each own a website.)
There is shopping, of course and museums. Silvercup Studios may be film at 4222 42nd St., Long Island City.
30 Rock, Cashmere Mafia, Gossip Girl, commercials and movies are made there.
