What is the best means of access to draw from to Union Station contained by Wash. DC?
Answers:
Heading east on I-66 will lug you right into DC (66 ends at the bridge as you enter DC) and (I-66 becomes ) onto Constitution Avenue. Follow this to the Capitol and Union Station is to the vanished side of the Capitol Building.
Very easy to find, this will lift you by the White House and National Archives on the left, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and rear legs of several Smithsonian museums on the right.
Good luck and safe travels!
The best path to get to Union Station is on the Metro train.
Unless you're picking up someone after rush hour - do not drive in - purloin Metro if you can help it.
Park at Vienna Metro Station - $4 near Smartpass or credit card. If you don't have Smartpass, in that are machines which will give you one beside $5 balance for $10.
Take Orange Line Train to Metrocenter. Transfer to Red Line Train to Union Station. Walk up two flights of escalators to the fundamental level of the station. Metro will cost you $3.90 during rush hours - $2.35 at other times. Double the costs for round-trip.
Depends on the time of year, and how long you'll be gone.
Union Station is in downtown DC, so traffic is a twinge and parking is ridiculous. If you have to drive within, be aware that in the mornings I-66 become HOV (two or more people contained by each sports car AT LEAST) during rush hour. You should detour to Rte. 50 otherwise.
The basics, from their website, are these:
* Follow I-66 East towards Washington, DC.
* Exit US 50 (East).
* Turn Right on Pennsylvania Avenue.
* Turn Turn Left on Constitution Avenue.
* Turn Turn Left on Louisiana Avenue.
* Turn Right on Columbus Circle.
* Union Station surrounded by on the Left.
If you're only going for a short spell of time, to pick someone up or day-trip/sightsee, then you should park at the Nutley St./Vienna Metro Station rotten of I-66 (it's an exit, with signs) and Metro within. Parking is about $4 for the year, and metro costs will be about like, each style. (I'm overestimating in shield they increase costs!).
Good luck!
