Why does Detroit own such a discouraging rep?
Because I live near Detroit, and call in there commonly. It's not such a bad city, and most of the locals are intensely friendly. Why does it get such a discouraging rep?

Its not bad, if you dont ever stop by anywhere else. detroit sucks, everybody know it
If you like Detroit, you should pop in the other big cities in the nouns (Chicago, Indianapolis, etc...). I think you will find that adjectives of them are nicer than Detroit.
The reason Detroit have such a bad rep is because of the riots contained by 1967. The city of Detroit was one of the wealthier cities contained by the midwest it never needed to nurture a new industry, resembling so many other cities enjoy. After the riots the auto companies had problems, coupled next to the bad decision and racism of Coleman Young it was set spinal column economically speaking even further. for these reasons along next to people departure in desperate times and talking trash in need seeing the improvements and the great things happening here everyday. The worthy news is that Detroit is on the new start, everyone here has worked to add to the perception and the reality. Detroit will be wonderful again, it may not transpire in 5 years but it will within 10-15 years.
I lived there for 2 years and hold very few nice things to read out about it. The relations there aren't that nice and it's a criminal's fantasy. You couldn't pay me ample to move back here.
I guess because of the ghettos there. Just duplicate reason why New York City have a bad rep. Ive lived near and its a ghetto and theres robberies, rapes, and shootings alot.
