Red splash: Universal Studios, Hollywood & Highlands, Olvera Street
Blue line: Long Beach nouns (Pine Square, The Pike, Shoreline Village, Queen Mary)
Gold line: Chinatown, Pasadena (good restaurants are surrounded by this area)
Ther is also the metro. I worked within thearea for years and was completely safe.
You should also know West Hollywood is LA's "Boy's Town" , basically a heads up!
As others have mentioned, you can find around LA very very well with the metro railing. They also have buses that run adjectives over the metropolitan Los Angeles. If you want to save some money, you can in actual fact take the metro banister directly from the airport to West Hollywood! The airport has a free shuttle that will help yourself to you right to Metro Rail! If you have too much luggage to do that, you can embezzle an airport shuttle which will cost about $35 US respectively way.

West Hollywood is a pretty out of danger area - it is better than other parts of Los Angeles.
Here are a couple things I would recommend checking out during your stay surrounded by LA:
Universal Studios: http://www.universalstudioshollywood.com...
Also, you may want to check out a comedy club - one I would recommend is the Hollywood Improv.

Both Universal Studios and the Hollywood Improv are in West Hollywood, so you wouldn't own to leave the common area of your hotel! Enjoy your stay!
