i would be leaving from the aurora train station but i dont know which trains to nick. i'm trying to get to Spin nightclub on Belmont and Halsted

Answers:
Take the Metra from Aurora to Union Station. Come up out of the station and meander west about three or four blocks to Halsted Street. Take the No. 8 Halsted bus north to Belmont. Bingo. Spin is right nearby. The bus costs $2
From Aurora you take the Metra into Union Station. Walk from Union station east across the River 3 blocks to Wells Street, and from in attendance you have the choice of any using the Brown Line or Purple Line. The nearest stations for those two lines is at Wells and Quincy, 1/2 block north of Jackson. These trains both stop at Belmont, but the Purple Line does so only during rush times, which you probably won't be traveling at. You can't win on going the wrong way contained by the Loop, as the trains go around solely one way. The train station is at Belmont and Sheffield, 2 blocks west of Halsted, and an unproblematic, safe put your foot down a bustling alternative commercial district to Spin.

Or, you can walk farther to State Street and block the Red Line at Jackson and State. The Red Line going north to Howard also stops at the same Belmont station as the Brown and Purple Lines, but make fewer stops on the instrument. Given the weather at this time of year, you'd be better off taking the couple extra stops on the brown row.

Here's the CTA map for downtown, it shows Union Station and the Quincy and Jackson stations:

You can also take a little buses from Union Station to Wells and Jackson, such as the 126 (Jackson St.), 151, 7, and 156 (all on canal, and turn on to Jackson by Union Station). Though if you don't enjoy to, no reason to spend the extra money for the bus.
I don't live within Chicago, but I'm only more or less 1.5 hours away...I've had to navigate around the city using the trains/buses myself. I use the following website. You can create a personalized trip which will let somebody know you exactly what buses and trains you have to bring, and how long it will take to carry there. It works really okay. Good Luck!
