What is it that inhabitants resembling almost Chicago so much?
Don't get me wrong. I give attention to Chicago is an nice city, but I've traveled a lot and I have a sneaking suspicion that some of the cities in Florida be more exciting and home-like to me. I think Chicago have some great things to see and do like the museums, restaurants, zoos, etc. But what really sets Chicago apart from the other cities?
In my evaluation it would have to be the food because most of the other things resembling shopping and museums can be seen surrounded by other cities as well. Maybe I enjoy a different view because I've see many of the negative of Chicago like segregation, extremely competitive position market, constant shut-down of Chicago-based retailers, poor housing, and cold weather!
Maybe it's because I've other been from around here but, I basically don't understand why folks are always axiom it's like the greatest city out within. People act as though it's basically some amazing mystical place that everyone want to move to. Why?

I'd hold to agree with you. I've lived here my full life, and I don't similar to it much. besides the food, theres nothing special.
I think it's the combination of the walkability of cities resembling San Francisco, Boston, and New York - with lots of interesting shops and restaurants adjectives close together - and the relative ability to drive, near some sprawl outside downtown. You can drive, and you can walk. In Phoenix, you can pretty much solely drive. In New York, you can pretty much only hike. In Chicago, you can do both. Same with the architecture. It's not freshly city, like New York, and it's not merely water, close to Miami. It's both.
Sure, Chicago *is* segregated, competitive, have trouble with local-based discount, and is freezing in the winter. But it's also one of America's most livable big cities.

I like the certainty that you get big city amenities in need having to live contained by a shoebox. The city is big enough where on earth you'll never be bored, but small enough where on earth it's easy to grasp around. I'm originally from the east coast and I've lived in New York. I prefer the lifestyle you can own here in Chicago.
There's other something to do in one of the heaps neighborhoods and each neighborhood have its own flavor.
I like that we're right on the water -- although you couldn't pay me to bring in the river -- and how it's not so crowded that you feel close to people are lying on you every single second of the day.
Yeah, the city is segregate. But there are neighborhoods that are more diverse than others.
Overall, I suggest it's a great place to live considering there's so much to do from a cultural, dining and entertainment perspective, but the cost of living is still reasonable.
