I reflect on Los Angeles. I think it's better to live within the OC(that's where I live).

For morning to day living, I would vote OC is more expensive, due to the fact that electricity from Edison is twice as much as LA DWP.
LA is much larger nouns compare to OC. On average, OC is more expensive (housing, food etc) because LA has more doomed to failure area. But restricted house in LA is more expensive than OC.
Basically, the reach in LA is much wider. You can find the cheapest to the most expensive going on for everything in LA.

I disagree with Obviousman just about day-to-day costs. I grew up in OC, and my ancestral still lives there, but I've spent the second 7 years in L.A. and it's be my experience that L.A. has be appreciably more expensive for day-to-day living. In fact, I'm moving vertebrae to OC next week.
I moved to L.A. for work, and my first day on the employment, I met another OC transplant who'd been living surrounded by L.A. for 6 years at that point. I asked him if he ever missed OC and he replied "just every time I verbs out of my driveway". After having lived contained by L.A. for 7 years, I have the exact same sentiment. I can't linger to get rear to OC. Better freeways, better roads, better traffic (not good - only just not as bad), better beaches, better shopping, better cutback (better baseball and hockey teams :). One a day-to-day cause, the only piece I can say that L.A. have over OC is a greater diversity of ethnic restaurants. Yes, L.A. has more cultural events, but it's one and only 30 minutes longer to get to them from OC than it is from most of L.A.
That would depend greatly on what part of respectively you're talking in the region of. There is a great deal of difference between Beverly Hills and enunciate, Santa Ana. Or between Laguna and say, Sun Valley.
