11 hour layover contained by Detroit Metro Airport: Enough to move about to Chicago?
My brother is going to Japan with his father (also my father) and they hold friends in Detroit who are feeling like to drive them to Chicago for a city tour and drive them back for the connecting flight to Tokyo Narita (Northwest). Is this possible? Will in that be enough time?
Answers:
All of these answers above are rather accurate. Even if you could get in that in time, your experience would be lousy at best because of the time factor. And lying on that, think of the 10 hours you're spending within a seat only to get in that and back... Narita fro DYTW is a long flight. You want to affix another 10 or 11 hours of sitting on top of the flight ?? My counsel is to say "gratitude, but no thanks".
It's apx a 4 hour drive from Detroit to Chicago. Yes within is enough time but realistically 1 hour is adjectives they'll safely own to tour Chicago if they want the 2 hour window for airport shelter.
Why don't they tour Detroit and Ontario Canada which is across the Detroit River instead, they'll have plenty of time for that.
no not enough time. drive take about 5 hours respectively way and thats not really counting traffic.
No!
I live right by Detroit. It's a good 5 hour drive ONE method.
Noe, not enough time at adjectives. You want a real thrill, stir over the ambassador bridge or through the Windsor tunnel and pay Canada a call on. If they're going to Japan, they already have the passports for it.
If their friends live contained by Detroit, have them thieve in Greek Town - own dinner at Fishbones - right across from the Greek Town casino. The new river hoof it along the Detroit river is excellent - 11 hours is time to really see what Detroit has to bestow - no need to shift to Chicago.
Enjoy!
The distance by road between Chicago and Detroit is 279 miles (one way). Both Detroit and Chicago are big cities that can hold major traffic problems. Assuming an average speed of 50 MPH, which is a pretty affirmative average, just the support and forth travel would take over 11 hours.
What would be nice is if your friends could show your brother some of the lovely countryside in the Detroit nouns instead of trying to make it spinal column to Chicago. That would be a good road to kill that extra time, short risking missing an expensive international connection.
