I wanna do some sightseing along the hudson river and i need some philosophy as to routes and sites, etc...

The Cloisters and Fort Tryon Park in Upper Manhattan provide sweeping view of both the Hudson River and the nearby George Washington Bridge. Many perfect photo spots there as it is the peak point in the total island of Manhattan (natural highpoint mind you)
To get at hand by subway, take the uptown A-train to 190th street and follow the directions to the elevator

Just a couple of suggestions; I am no expert, I don't know the nouns north of Albany, but I do live right here in NY, so ...
Let's enunciate you are driving...
** start at Battery Park in Manhattan and drive north former the docks where the ships verbs into port, then dance to The Cloisters which is part of The Metropolitan Museum if you are into Medieval Art.. nice interweave gardens, art, and archtecture . worth a visit..
*** afterwards go pay for onto the highway and drive north upstate
*** I'd take the scenic route on the east side of the river, and stop at some of the little towns along the path, Rhinebeck being one of them
*** check the internet for Bed & Breakfast Hotels...some are historic and pretty
*** if you want to cross the Hudson to the west hill, you have The George Washington Bridge a short time ago north of NYC and there is The Tappan Zee bridge at Tarrytown and The Bear Mountain Bridge .effective Peekskill
*** you might stop at
West Point Military Academy (check first) on the west bank
Bear Mountain State Park on the west guard of the river (check the Wikipedia article on The Bear Mountain State Park: there is a gorgeous picture of the bridge, and a nice set on the historical rush of the area)
*** also, Albany, the capital of the state is right on the Hudson where on earth it joins the Mohawk River . full of history..feeble historical mansions in the nouns, if you are into mansions, the Erie canal is adjoining, museums full of paintings
* you also might bear the train: Metro North and make stops along the means of access ... get a suitable ticket and craft stop-overs along the way ... The Hudson is compared to The Rhine River contained by Germany, so to stop overnight and stay at a Bed & Breakfast, would be in the right style !! win the train the next morning and be on your process ..
