What is Long Island approaching?
I have a career offer contained by Farmingdale, a small town in Long Island (Nassau County), for an electrical engineering position. I've be to NYC many times back but never LI. I'm just wondering what it's resembling - is there a great deal to do, good darkness life, flawless food, etc.? What is there to do for fun? And is it a biddable place to meet women?
I'm going for an on site interview subsequent month for the details...so I'll get to see some of the nouns. I think that Beth Page park is right by it, what's that resembling?
Answers:
Long Island is nothing close to Manhattan. I'm from the midwest originally and I tell my friends and domestic, Long Island is just similar to Des Moines :)
It's a normal suburban nouns, residential and commercial areas, Long Island LOVES it's strip malls, arylic nail places and pizza joint :) Farmingdale is pretty nice, it's smack dab surrounded by the middle of LI, not too far south or north and it's about 45 min from "The City". As for Bethpage- I work contained by bethpage, and it's an older community near money, but there are greatly of smaller towns near by. The entry you have to remember nearly LI is that there isn't really separation between the towns, from manhattan to riverhead, it's resembling one town blended into another town.
Hope that helps- there's an adjustment factor, keep that surrounded by mind... I've been out here 5 years and I still don't catch it all the time ;)
LI is 120 miles long, so there is tremedous range. I worked for years in Bethpage, which isn't far from Farmingdale. You'll find Hicksville, despite the unpromising first name, is a major place for nightlife and food, but Farmingdale isn't unpromising. I was other unimpressed by the park. For meeting the local women, you inevitability to involve yourself in the area--clubs and such. But it is definitely possible.
My friend, the connect below will be very valuable in know a moment or two bit more about Long Island.
Good luck

fairly frankly, there's like nil to do here. it sucks. and ive been living here practically my together life...most ppl take out of here as soon as they have time off. i hear kings park is fun though..if you're not afraid of ghosts..oh and if you're a aficionado of the circus...go to nassau collesium ..barnum and bailey circus is performing again.
What is great about living on Long Island is that you are close to the City, essential lots of beaches, and even a short drive to the mountains upstate. There are gorgeous mansions on the north shore "gold ingots coast". Out east is pretty in the Hamptons nouns and North fork.
Farmingdale is a pretty nice town. It is rather immense and there are different neighborhoods some nicer than others
.It have a strip of stores, restaurants, bars, movie theaters on Route 110 explicitly nice.
