If you come to Florida, I suggest touring the Everglades National Park starting with a fifteen mile bicycle ride around the lined, bike, friendly Shark Valley Loop. (See the link below). My wife and I give somebody a lift this ride early within the morning every New Years Day. You will see an incredible amount of wildlife. Sorry, there are no roving herd of Buffalo like Yellowstone but you will ride olden at least a hundred alligators. The nouns is noticeably cleaner than any I've ever breathed because it is scrub clean instinctively by the dense plant life.

Coming to the Iowa Great Lakes you could soak up the lakes. Swimming, boating and spray skiing. There is Arnold's Park amusement park. Numerous resorts to stay at. All this is affordable. There are too many fitting restaurants to dine at, Marco's and Tweeter's are my favorites.
You could pop in the mansions in Newport, Narragansett Beach, the Water Fires contained by Providence.
