What should I do when visit San Francisco for the week, Aug 22 through the 27th?
Please do not respond with seeing a baseball winter sport, I am already doing that. I will most likely be renting a sports car, so other areas within believable driving distance should be considered. Thanks!

Visit the "Musee Mecanique" on Pier 45...a treasure trove of old arcade games from the turn of the century, and yes you can play them!

Mt Tamalpias - park and short climb up to carry view of several counties.
Sausalito - meander around their main st, look within shops, have lunch or dinner beside view of SF across the sound.
San Mateo - SF Coast
Stay in slow lane adjectives the way (until you get Hwy 1) - Drive out Geary Blvd, to Ocean Beach, right to Skyline, to Hwy ! to Half Moon Bay, walk around Main St. stir to Moonside Cafe Bakery for pastry, sandwich, fresh bread or focaccia. By the next time you return, the ride previous the scenic and rugged Devil's Slide coastal area might no longer exist.
Stop by Princeton to munch through at one of their restaurants out near the the deep & fishing boats etc.
