Cost of living contained by washington?

Answers:
I live contained by SF, and lived in LA up to that time here... and I'm moving up there surrounded by August. Everything up there seem sooooooo cheap compared to here: I pay $700 for a crap studio across the cove in Oakland, over $4/gal for gas plus bridge toll ($4 one way) or $5.80 round trip on the subway, and for example, a DiGiorno pizza costs 6.99-8.99. So to me, the Seattle nouns is CHEAP, and I sort of chuckle when people be in motion on about how expensive it is.
It really depends on where you're coming from. I lived surrounded by Atlanta, Phoenix and Sacramento, and PLEASE know that it is high.

However, those folks from NYC, L.A., the Bay Area and other expensive California cities/areas find it to be a steal.

So you enjoy to take into report where you're starting from.
its a little pungent
The East side of the state is much cheaper than the west. Electricity is particularly cheap thanks to the dam. Gas is close to the most expensive in the nation. Housing is still quite cheap but going up fast.
Describing the cost of living is a little bit difficult, as you can see from the answers so far. It's not a short time ago a black and white situation... What are you going to be doing here? Seattle can be a really affordable place to live if you are frugal and willing to shop around (for shopping and for your place you live in). I have an idea that those prices that were programmed for apartments were really giant, but I always shopped around, scoped out every place, asked friends something like their rental costs, and so on. I'm usually unwilling to pay more than I reason is necessary for most things and I really freshly love a bargain. I conjecture that for $1000/mo, you can end up next to a really nice 1-br apartment in Seattle.

As for living costs, it will depend on where on earth you live. If you live right downtown, there aren't as tons shopping locales for your daily necessities. Whole Foods moved contained by recently and there's Ralph's, which isn't cheap (Whole Foods is a inborn and organic store beside great stuff, but not so much cheap overall). The prices aren't as competitive as in more suburb areas surrounding downtown.

Your job/income will really serve to decide how the cost-of-living looks to you. If you own a decent situation, you'll be able to "splurge" on some things that others reason are a necessity, others still think is too much of a luxury to opt for.
expensive! i purely moved
What part of Washington State are you interested surrounded by?

Seattle proper is VERY COSTLY and family frosty. The Seattle Public Schools are paralyzed by political correctness as are the other metro schools - but not as fruitless as Seattle.

A one bedroom, newish apartment in South Everett (Snohomish County)- a modest nouns will set you back $795 a month. In Seattle indistinguishable apartment would be almost $1,000 a month. This would be true of Redmond or Bellevue.

Snohomish County is a bit less pricey, and various nice areas. and Tacoma in Pierce County have some bargains, but is much rougher and still have serious gang and crime problems.
i live surrounded by kent,washington
Well it depends on the area you live surrounded by. I live about 20 minutes north of Seattle and a straightforward three bedroom two bathroom house is about partially a million dollars. But my cousin lives down in Longview by the border and her house have 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, plus a huuuuuge portion of land, and it just set her back just about $130,000. So It's really all almost location. The more rural the area, the smaller quantity a house will cost.
expensive honey!
wages are lofty too
The cost of living in Washington will really change depending on whether you are looking at Eastern Washington or Western Washington and larger cities or smaller towns. I looked up Seattle using a cost of living calculator and this is what I found: http://www.payscale.com/cost-of-living-c... Then I looked up Spokane to compare: http://www.payscale.com/cost-of-living-c...

The cost of housing in Spokane is 40% lower than contained by Seattle, and the overall cost of living is 9% lower. You can use this calculator to check the cost of living in other cities contained by Washington. You can also compare the cost of living in your current city to other cities and/or check on median income data for your charge title in different cities. Knowing what your income would be in a given nouns can give you a better thought of how your standard of living might change if you want to move.

Hope that helps,
