As you can probably sense from the tone of the previous response, they're almost universally despised in San Francisco.
Fans blame them for turning a Super Bowl squad into one of the worse in the NFL (they're cheapskates, who are unwilling to spend the money needed to retain honest players). They also ruined the city's 2016 Olympics bid by withdrawing from a stadium use agreement with the USOC.
