What are the neighborhoods similar to contained by Chicago?
Hi. I am thinking of moving to Chicago and eventually transfer to Loyola U Chicago. I be just wondering what the different neighborhoods be like. I hold some friends who live in Wicker Park.and I know that Lincoln Park is considerate of "hipsterish." And that's fine...but are there any funky neighborhoods? Maybe rather more "bohemian." Is Lincoln Park all in the region of the hipsters? or is that just a rumor? I freshly am not big into the bar/club scene.what's Logan Square/Bucktown like? Hmm...I guess I of late want information on the neighborhoods in Chicago.
What is the folk/blues music scene resembling in Chicago? And besides bars/clubs how else do young-looking people (early 20s) touch people (I'm guessing at school).
Thanks!...sorry to be rough. ha, I'm really looking forward to get a clearer picture of Chicago. (I lived at hand from ages 1-10, so I have a fixed memory of the place). Any other tidbits on Chicago would also be greatly appreciated!

Lincoln Park is a fun nouns but you are correct. It is where abundantly of young snobby general public tend to rent and then if they can afford it buy. Its nature of expensive and parking is hard to find.
I close to WIcker Park/Bucktown and it sounds like i.e. more what you are looking for.
Another up and coming area you might want to consider is the west loop. Its have really turned around in olden times couple years and also has the be aware of you are looking for in my inference.
Although you might want to consider what is closest to your school.
Their is a great music scene contained by Chicago and Blues has a strong presence. Enjoy!
Lots of blues bar at Halsted & Wrightwood in Lincoln Park. But if you're going to Loyola it would be easier to live surrounded by Edgewater or Rogers Park. These neighborhoods have lots and lots of apartments but can be rough around the edges. Many Northwestern and Loyola students live nearby, though, because it is easy to get hold of to the north campus or downtown without have a car.
Well, first off Lincoln Park isn't "hipsterish", Lincoln park is Yuppish. Wicker Park is "hipsterish" although to be exact changing hastily. I see more Dockers-wearing guys there immediately than I did 7 years ago.
"Funky" neighborhoods would be, I guess, Wicker Park/Bucktown, Logan Square, Ukranian Village, Pilsen, parts of Uptown, Edgwater, Andersonville. Rogers Park is kinda "bohmeian".. lots of former hippies but the neighborhood is undergoing a bit of a transition very soon. when they tore down a lot of the CHA unit, a lot ofthose residents moved nearby and now in attendance is a bit of gang activity, unruly kids running the streets, etc. But the old-timers are trying to stand firm and work beside everyone to get along. I still close to it, live not too far away and go near frequently to pick up my orders of natural veggies from the local co-op.
Blues, of course, is big here and folks is thriving fairly well. Places similar to Schubas, The Hideout and the Old Town School of Folk Music (naturally) feature folk/countryish concerts and band.
Younger people gather round at coffee shops, concerts in small clubs, literary events (there are poetry venue, writers groups, etc.) and believe it or not, at comedy clubs. There are a bunch of new comedy clubs popping up and for some purpose, stand up is becoming big.
Anyway, that's all I can have an idea that of. If you need any more info, ask.
I be born and raised on Chicago's south side. It be mostly an Irish-German-Polish mix and it was a great neighborhood. We have the finest parks, public transportation, cops who walked a cadence, the best restaurants, plenty of shopping and peace and quiet. It's probably changed a bit, but I still know folks who live there and they're not complaining.
