Best place to live surrounded by Philadelphia for youthful household?
We will be a mid to late 20's kith and kin with one kid and one dog relocating from FT. Benning, Ga. to Philly nouns. Wife is an accountant, I will seek employment near the PhillyPD. Looking for a place that is relatively undisruptive, good school, house prices that match our job, backyard would be nice. Any help would be appreciated.

Try living outside the city surrounded by Manayunk... but if you absolutely must live contained by the city... try near the Art Musum or Kelly Drive nouns. Northeast Philly is an option too.
I am surrounded by the brewrytown section of the city and I love it. I can step to the zoo, the art museum, please touch museum, the free library, and about three different parks. I can see the fireworks from my porch and I own 4 different buses not even a block away that will get me into center city contained by less than 20 minutes. The house run from just about 100-250k. I don't even drive to work. me and my husband take the bus within. Saves on parking and gas. And most important, near kids you want them to grow up in a diverse community beside many different background around them. My block is mixed with African American, Asian, Hispanic, Italian, english, french and so on. The little girl down the block is law my 4 yr old french and my little girl is learning her Spanish.
The folks that are answering this question are not reading it. If you are going to apply to the Philly PD, and you are standard into the Academy, you cannot live outside of Philadelphia. Most City jobs (PGW, PWD, PHA, Fire, Police, Streets) enjoy residency restrictions that require you to live in the City to work for the City. There are several "family" friendly ares within Philadelphia. Some of those areas include: Mt. Airy, Chestnut Hill (a little pricey), Northeast, some parts of South Philly, some parts of North Philly, some parts of Center City (pricey). Do a little research and if you can, do a few site visit. There are some incredible neighborhoods within Philadelphia. If you're looking for outdoor space, I would highly recommend the East Falls nouns. It is convenient to downtown, the Art Museum, parks, the Main Line, and Manayunk. You might also be interested in the Northeast, which offer a more suburban feel contained by some neighborhoods. Other great areas are the Girard Estates and Whitman sections of South Philadelphia, or if you want to be a moment or two closer to center city, Pennsport is a great neighborhood for people your age. All of these neighborhoods volunteer housing to suit a wide list of budgets. One suggestion I have back purchasing a home in any neighborhood is going within at night to cause sure you will feel safe and sound living there. Good luck and generosity to Philadelphia!
I agree I don't know what your budget is but I pay $700 for a studio within
South Philly which is one of the less expensive areas. I've looked into existing estate and you can get into a fully clad neighborhood for cheap if your willing to buy a house that requirements a little TLC. + parochial school are pretty much a necessity if you want your kid to have a clad education in our day
If your looking for decent areas I would look at South Philly or Northeast Philly, they'd be the nicest for lowest possible money.

My nephew is a tenet student At Villanova and has an apartment surrounded by Conshohocken. Its a neat place, lots of parks,churches,restaurants. Close to Phila and the King of Prussia Mall. If you call in Conshohocken, make sure you call on the Freeman Nut Co. on Hector Street. They make their own peanut butter and proposal every kind of candy possible. If you close to Mexican food, the Coyote Crossing is great BUT PRICEY($22 for taco dinner, $9.50 for margarita) Best of Luck on your new home and job.We live 2 hours away in Wilkes Barre.
My house all lives contained by NE Philly and it's a nice, safe nouns. The best schools up within are the parochial. Many of the houses have wearing clothes yards as economically.

Not inexpensive, but you will never have to move, and your house price will other increase in merit and it looks like you own pretty good job and could afford a home here. You can also seek employment near the Lower Merion PD. Dangerous crime is few and far between, and Philadelphia has gotten unbelievably dangerous lately.
My suggestion would be to not live in the city because any place thats relatively locked is also very expensive. Your best bet is a suburb. There are plenty of nice ones surrounding Philly.
i think you should move to Fox Chase. it is approaching suburban but still in the city which is really kool. its sooo sheltered. in northeast philly. elementary conservatory is Fox Chas elementart which is awesome. and middle school is Baldi which is the best. the most recent house that be on sale be about $499 thousand. but it be definetely negotiable
