Orange County, CA traffic counsel (especially Costa Mesa)?

I'm not familiar near this area, but considering a trip. What characteristics of traffic would I expect if I attempted to:

1. Drive into Costa Mesa, CA, on a late Sunday afternoon on the I-10, 60, 91, and 55?

2. Drive out of Costa Mesa Sunday dark using the same route? (55, 91, 60, I-10)

Answers:
Cheat like everyone else does. Take your front license plate stale and use the Fast Trak lane on the 91. The snap and tell cameras that jump off when here is no transponder cannot tell whose coup¨¦ that is. Listen to your traffic reports on KFWB or KNX unless here is a ballgame on it.
Depends on what your starting point is... sounds similar to you're coming through either San Bernardino or Riverside...

Most imagined you'll be taking CA-91 around through Riverside. However, 91 usually backs up within Anaheim Hills all the opening to Corona, especially mid-afternoon. You're probably better off taking CA-60 west to CA-57 south. That will rob you through the Orange Crush (where CA-57, CA-22 and I-5 meet). Since they just expanded I-5 a few years ago, it moves reasonably well bygone the 91 into Orange County, so you can get on I-5 to CA-55 south. Unless there's an coincidence, or something happening at the fairgrounds, 55 is duly clear into Costa Mesa. Because CA-55 ends at Harbor Boulevard, you may encounter some slowing about 2 miles from the finish of the freeway, just as you overrun CA-73.

Going back on a Sunday dark, the traffic won't be too bad. The subsequent you leave, the clearer the freeways will be.
Pretty bedside light if you're coming through early within the afternoon. Mid afternoon traffic can get crazy on the 91, mostly within summer and on holiday weekends, especially near the transition to the 55.

Driving out, no problem whatsoever.
You can not realy predict. I only just got through here and it ws ok during rush hour. But last Sunday mid-day it be a beast.
Stay out of Orange County. Just a bunch of right-wing rednecks who would a bit live in Texas or Mississippi!!
I live contained by the Riverside Corona area and own done this drive a LOT. Going into OC on Sunday shouldn't be bad at adjectives, the earlier the better. Coming wager on to the Inland Empire ALWAYS takes longer but since most Sunday traffic is usually heading "back" to OC or LA you'll be going contained by the right direction. In this case, it's the LATER the better. Traffic is fatty, especially on 91 and they are closing it entirely at times where work is man done on Green River Rd. The following web site is excelent for checking traffic flow ahead of time:

Enjoy your trip and drive undamagingly!
Both times should be well brought-up..the 55-south will take you close by the Orange County Airport with I'm rather familiar next to, but that time of day should be fine.HOWEVER, beware of when you plan to drive your trip as if it is around the holidays, objective Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc., the traffic will definitely be heavier! The airport is not nearly as big at LAX or ONT, but the 55 is a direct route to that airport. Again, if you do this at a time to be exact not close to a holiday, you will be fine during those times of day.
You should just filch Metrolink or an OCTA bus! The traffic in OC is the pits! Last time I be stuck in traffic on the 55 freeway I soiled myself, genuine bad and I still can't seize the stains out!
