Planning DC Family Trip - Which hotel is better JW Marriott or L'Enfant Plaza?
Trying to figure out which hotel would be a better ortion for a relatives trip to the DC area surrounded by July. The choices are the JW Marriott on Pennsylvania Avenue or the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel. If you know about these two later let me know your thoughts.

both are pretty pricey... the marriott is closer to the white house etc, but the l'enfant plaza is so pretty and it's markedly nice, ive always needed to stay there. i know that the marriott will be lower than some kind of construction work during july, so whether that bothers you or not i dont know.
traffic is other bad no situation where you walk in dc contained by july. i would go next to l'enfant, but i guess it depends on your budget.
Both are good, but pricey. All else individual equal, I'd probably pick the Marriott. The L'Enfant is right above a Metro station, so if you're planning to do any significant amount of subway travel, that would be very sympathetic.
And don't worry more or less subway noise - you beyond doubt cannot hear it at ground level.
The Loews L'enfant Plaza is moderately quiet, and right on a metro station (I niggardly right in the basement) but it is not contained by the center of things like the J. W. Marriott is.
The Marriott is right on Freedom Plaza, smaller amount than two blocks from the White House, less than two blocks from the precinct, less than two blocks from a metro station.
L'Enfant Plaza really closes up after 6 or so - the Metro Center nouns stays pretty awake after dark, and is close to like mad more restaurants and the like.
As I've never slept surrounded by either, I can't parallel on the rooms.
The Marriott is in a much much more interesting historic nouns near the White House and downtown. L'Enfant Plaza is a bunch of concrete boxes.
