Does anyone live surrounded by the nouns of UMass Boston? Do you approaching it?
I'm looking at moving to that neighborhood, particularly the nouns around Columbia Road and Dorchester Avenue. Does anyone live in that nouns? Do you like it? Is it not dangerous in vocabulary of the crime rate? Overall opinion?

i went to academy there, not sure what it's approaching living there though. I also worked on Dorchester ave and it be as ghetto as it could get.
i would reccomend living outside of boston like within natick or framingham (both nice areas especially natick) if you're trying to work in boston or something.
i don't own experience living right in the city of boston but i enjoy lived closely outside of it.
It's not desperate, I don't personally recommend it. I live on the Fenway and shift there for grad institution, and I love it here. Also if you're looking for something closer try Quincy
Your best bet is to commute, and the good communication is you've got much to choose from. Apartments hard by the stations along the Braintree Branch of the Red Line are relatively inexpensive. The JFK/UMASS stop is just after N. Quincy, and most of the tie-ups and delay seem to evolve after Broadway station.
Honestly that is not the best nouns of Boston. I wouldn't want to live there, myself. You could live close to the conservatory and easily go and get there by train. Try different areas of Quincy probably, and then thieve the Red Line in to college.
My daughter go to UMB and mentioned a few times the apartment complex behind the conservatory next to bayside expo. I devise is called Harbor Point.A lot of students live in attendance and is pretty safe from what my dtr say.
Another good bet for you is North Quincy.There are greatly of rentals near the T station at hand. Sagamore towers being one of them. If you live in attendance, you wont need a saloon as the T is 3 min walk and you can run anywhere,including UMB (from there).Any area from JFK along the T stops adjectives the way to Braintree (N Quincy, Quincy center, Quincy Adams, Wolaston, Braintree), is going to be fine for you
I don't live within anymore, but I used to commute from Roslindale to UMass. I particularly don't similar to the Columbia Road or Dorchester Ave. it is not safe approaching it used to be years ago. Why not consider another area surrounded by Dorchester or even Quincy where is safer for you to travel. UMass is accessible by the T so if you hold the opportunity - consider another neighborhood, during winter you know how dark it get and the streets don't get plowed as against the clock as you would like them to be... transport it from me...
