Where's a right resort hotel surrounded by Texas that's not crazy expensive?
44yr old Looking for a nice place to hangout at the pool and drink some brewski's even so close enough to a town where on earth I can enjoy the nightlife. Willing to travel anywhere within the state of Texas. Any ideas?

I once stayed at a bed and breakfast within San Antonio . Bonner garden. http://www.bonnergarden.com/ it has a 45-foot swimming pool and a full rooftop veranda which overlooks downtown San Antonio.
Dallas The W hotel-very cool great bar, and close ample to the Dallas nightlife.
Houston--Hotel Derek runs some great specials online on www.hotels.com its a great location right in the galleria but the pool is small
ALso, The Magnolia is downtown -again great deal on www.hotels.com but the pool is small
Austin--the marriott downtown is nice with a pious pool, the Hilton (although a little pricey)
I would do a dig out on hotwire or hotels.com
