Visiting Seattle subsequent week, what to do downtown as an non-driver?
I would rather use public transportation to capture around. I'm interested in dutiful food, jazz and the outdoors. Have any ideas for a fun time?

in downtown Seattle everyone walk! its the normal to do. i suggest getting a each day Seattle paper and check out the arts sector. than call for walking directions from your current location! hold fun!
everyone walk in seattle, pop in the waterfront, the marketplace, rob the bus to pioneer square for jazz clubs and good eat, visit the space syringe, the art museum is cool and so is the science center. broadway is interesting for people watching. seattle have good public transportation, even the underground bus tunnels are a verbs to see.
Downtown is approach better appreciated as a non-driver! Not driving is also promoted in the downtown nouns with the "Ride-Free Zone" of buses, as buses are free inside the main downtown nouns during the day to promote more riding of buses and smaller number traffic downtown.
All within walking distance, you can check out the Seattle Center, Pike Place Market, the piers, and most of the downtown corridor, depending on how far you are comfortable walking.
Seattle Center have the Space Needle, the Experience Music Project, the Pacific Science Center, Key Arena, and the Fun Forest Amusement Park all located on its grounds. It's patently a place to check out for fun and the EMP might be interesting for you as a jazz lover, but it's not one of my main recommendation. Also, the Seattle Monorail runs from Seattle Center to downtown about every 12-15 minutes (up until around 11pm). If you are fortunate satisfactory to be here this weekend, there's also the Bite of Seattle festival going on here this weekend which offers samplings of lots different Seattle restaurants for less than the cost of have to go to so lots restaurants. There will be music and entertainment there as all right!
Pike Place Market is one of those stops that people only always come across to have to travel to and it's definitely a fun place to browse around the shops and check out. Buy some fresh produce, stop into one of the frequent eateries around, watch some street performances, and possibly stop into Il Bistro for a bite or a drink along the way. It's give or take a few a 20-25 minute walk from Seattle Center or if you caught the monorail, it's nearly 5-10 minutes down Pine St. from where you procure off the monorail.
From Pike Place Market, you can amble towards the water a couple of blocks and take to the piers and check out Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe, dine on some fish-n-chips at Ivar's on the water, and freshly enjoy the waterfront view! It's really beautiful out here on a sunny daylight! Also, you can walk over to the take terminals and hop a take and get a gorgeous ride whether you want to dance to the other side's destination or you just want to wallow in the ride!
Jazz... There's Jazz Alley on 6th Ave. downtown that hosts a lot of different jazz musicians. I haven't be there contained by a while but it is a nice place to listen and enjoy for sure! It seem kind of strange, on the corner of an office building, but defintely a flawless place to check out! I know there are other places as economically, but nothing rotten the top of my head. I'll incorporate more if I think of them.
The transit goes EVERYWHERE so you won't own any problems, everything is open to you :)
