Anyone here from Hawaii??

Am considering relocating to HA for school. Is here lifestyle there really more relaxed than surrounded by the states?? What is it like? I would resembling to go to academy and work for one of the resorts over there. Can anyone confer me an estimate for a 1-bdrm apt.. i hear it is for the rich only and am not sure if i could afford it. thankfulness!!

i'm presuming college, but hawaii's a cool place to visit or live depending if you see it as a rock or a place of asylum or sanctuary... yes, it is absolutely more relaxed than mostly places i hold lived. honolulu, san francisco, detroit, chicago, and japan. and you do the roommate situation to save on costs. man hired at the resorts is easy as long you own had some service industry experience... 1 bedroom is within the 1,000.00 range grant or take a hundred or two... perfect luck.
yes, born and raised surrounded by hawaii, went to california for conservatory, but i went to UH (University of Hawaii) for some summer conservatory classes. Yes, our lifestyle is much more laid back and slow pace than the "rat race" of the mainland. I love it there and I really really do miss home. And Yes, at the present time, only the rich can afford to be comfortable near. Prices are so high (gas is more expensive) but hell, you could find some roomates and split a place. I enjoy a lot of mainland friends who live within Honolulu now and they're doing fine. We hold a good and verbs bus system (TheBus) and I used to walk everywhere!

Anyway, biddable luck, you'll be fine!
Over adjectives, I think the atmosphere's more relaxed here. It's a lovely place to live and work. We enjoy so many different cultures that you can cram something new every hours of daylight. Oh, and the food! So many different flavors. It does come near a price, though.

I live in Aiea, which is implicit Pearl Harbor. I rent a 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment (fortunately the utilities are included) for $1400/month. Between my husband and myself we can fiddle with our bills on our two full-time jobs, but we've worked thorny to keep out of debt. If you hold pre-exisiting debt, make sure you've get plenty saved up for emergency.
It's in truth HI. But yes, the lifestyle is more relaxed and seems smaller number stressful. There is still the whole working factor and getting to work on the dot..but its not so jump start and its lately at a steady pace..takin it comfortable.
A 1Bd Apt. depends on what island you want to live on. Oahu it could be $1000 and up and on the Big Island maybe $600 and up but you can bring back rooms in a house for of late $500.
I've never been to Hawaii, but my friends hold, they think it's to die for!
I live in Hilo (the Big Island) but once lived on Oahu to attend UH Manoa. Housing at hand is tough but you can find something affordable. When I was end there (graduated surrounded by 2005) I was paying $600/mo to rent a mother-in-law suite attached to a familiy's home. It be in a great location (Waialae Iki) and close to the university. Hawaii is relaxed, but you still enjoy to be professional and also Oahu is not quite as relaxed as Hilo.
