MARDI GRAS...place to crash.?

I am looking for a place to stay 2-4 people the most.
Is at hand anyone who will allow us to stay (of course we'll pay) while visiting Feb. 1-3?? We are looking to stay contained by walking distance of the French Quarter...All hotels are booked or are too expensive.
