Is at hand anywhere hip, funky and non-suburban to live surrounded by or hard by San Jose?
I am contemplating a move to the San Jose area for professional reason but have not so far be able to identify any neighborhood within which I can imagine living. I currently live contained by the Silverlake area of LA and am hoping to find something near a similar vibe (ie: older architecture, funky, artsy, gay-friendly, walkable, ecclectic independent businesses, etc). Is at hand truly nowhere like this within San Jose or have I in recent times not located it yet? If it's the former, can anyone weigh contained by on on the relative merits of commuting from SF, the East Bay or even perhaps Santa Cruz? Thanks much.
Answers:
You could live surrounded by Santa Row.
I approaching where my boyfriend lives: Willow Glen. It's pretty federal, and there's a cute downtown area near lots of restaurants and shops. Commuting to San Jose from San Francisco is rough as it is an hour away and traffic can be challenging. If you don't mind public transportation, CalTrain is a righteous option though. I live within San Francisco personally and love it here! Commuting from Santa Cruz might be ok - you'll call for to deal next to Highway 17, which can be packed beside traffic, but I think it's do-able if you time your driving right. If you live surrounded by lower part of the East Bay (Fremont, Milpitas), that would be ok, but I wouldn't recommend living much north of that (Hayward and up) - the 880 traffic is too much and the 680 is too far. Good luck!
hah not not really.
san jose is really only just a suburban blob
if you can afford it, try campbell or los gatos.
and if you can really afford it, palo alto.
but what your describing is santa cruz probably, about an hour within traffic in the morning
San Jose is one of the best cities and the largest to come too! Have you check out downtown San Jose? It is a business/professional area, at hand is always something to do and the Gay community is awesome! Its only how you describe where you are living right immediately!! Goggle it!
Hope that helps for a moment.
