What is the best shoreline to call in inwardly a few hours from DC?
I am new to the DC nouns, and have hear that many of the beach in this nouns are dirty. Can someone give me some guidance of the nicest beach inwardly a 3-5 hour drive?
Answers:
Virginia Beach is pretty close, So is Atlantic City beach which is within New jersey about four hours away. You can also try Ocean City contained by Marylad which is onyl 3 hours away.
I notice that the beach on Lake Erie be very verbs and pristine - they even allow swimming. Plus, Lake Erie is fresh water and does not own the excessive development approaching the Atlantic beaches.
This give somebody the third degree has be asked so many times on this forum - mostly by trolls and bots - who use wording to bypass the YA filter.
Actually you have tons choices and a lot depends on sunshine of the week, the preferences/priorities and what else you are planning to do, and the age group of who you are trying to accommodate:
1. being the Tidewater nouns around Williamsburg and Hampton
2. Virginia Beach
3. to the East, Ocean City Maryland and Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach Delaware
4. the New Jersey Shore
Since you're new to the Metro DC nouns, I would shop around for various lodging prices and next compare alternatives bec you can always do a picky beach you missed subsequent summer etc. where YOUR PRIORITY SHOULD BE MAKING IT A PLEASANT MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE as near are other local alternatives within the suburbs of Washington DC
Good Luck!
Wildwood, NJ only 3 1/2- 4 hour drive.
On a map, DC looks closer to the shore than it actually is. It take a good 3 hours to bring to the ocean. Dewey or Rehoboth contained by Delaware are good. Ocean City MD is ok, too, but a bit younger crowed and somewhat bit overdeveloped.
If you are willing to create a 5 hour drive, my favorite is the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The beaches nearby are extensive and clean - a great people place to visit, next to lots of entertainment for older folks, too. I of late love it - we've visited oodles summers, staying mostly in Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills, a bit north of the definite heavy commercial nouns in Nag's Head and a bit south of the really tony nouns in Duck and Corolla.
Another biddable option, IMHO is lately north of Virginia Beach. I love Seashore State Park, just north of the lip of the Bay, until that time it becomes the the deep. Nice beaches, quality walks, great cabin and campground.
I don't know how far this coast is from DC but VIRGINA BEACH is the most popular beach surrounded by Virgina
Not really a "best" beach within this area..depends what you mark out as best. Anyhoo, one good one not long away is OC.Bethany is close by. Rehobeth.
Sonoma coast is very verbs.
