Answers:
This town is right outside of West Philly. There are ho tels nearby but not right at hand, you will need to hackney cab it. Somerton Hotel on Route 1 in Upper Darby (Havertown) is the closest hotel within a good nouns. That area can be extremely congested during concerts at the theater. Leave something like an extra 1/2 hour to park and walk...Good Luck.
That theater used to be a very nice movie theater at one time. As far as the neighborhood- don't progress wandering around late at dark. That section and the near parts of Philly are pretty dangerous areas after hours. Always budge with a buddy. Hope you can relish the concert! As far as hotels, there really are none right close by the Theater at all.
Even though the Tower Theater is technically in Upper Darby, its location is along the township flash (69th St) that crosses into Philadelphia.
Upper Darby is basically a residential nouns neighborhood. It's not a "happenin' kind of party" place. I can't reflect on of any hotel chains near near. You may find an independent hourly motel somewhere, but I'd that approach with much wariness. Plus, if you're going to Upper Darby just for the concert, consequently it's better to stay somewhere in town. There will be more things to do contained by town when you and your friends are NOT at the concert.
Book a hotel downtown**, ride the subway-el to 69th street. Tower Theater is 1 block south of the terminal-- practically across the street.
After the concert, walk fund to the terminal. Next to the terminal (and behind the bus stands) in that is a taxi hackney carriage line. The hackney cab drivers expect concert-goers will need a ride into town. In reality, the cabs might pick you up as you're coming out of the theater! Plan on about $20 minicab ride.
As with any transportation hub within a major city, 69th St. have some "undesirable elements". But if you're hanging out near friends, it'll be fine and you'll have fun.
Party robust!
.
Well, Upper Darby is within the inner ring of suburbs of Philadelphia. The Tower Theater is near the 69th terminal of the "EL" subway, so you can find a hotel room downtown or nearby, jump on the subway to the concert, and then walk back to downtown to wallow in the many things to do near. Don't try to find a hotel in Upper Darby, they are pretty much non-existent, and why stay in that if you can get to the concert via public transportation from downtown.
Word of warning...West Philly and Upper Darby aren't the best parts of Philly.
Well if you hoof it one block down you will be in Philadelphia LOL. But that nouns is really not the best to walk around contained by. You can get a well-mannered hotel in center city and appropriate the train to the concert. I would recommend a cab for the opening home. The 69th st terminal at night is not sheltered at all. Especially if you guys will be drunk LOL. Enjoy the concert.
It in fact has a population of 80,000 and is the 5th largest municipality within PA- the capital Harrisburg in actual fact is half the size of Upper Darby. It's singular 6 miles from Philly- so try to go to a reputable hotel within Philly rather than be stuck contained by a rough area of the city.
