What's the weather approaching contained by LA around the expire of June emergence of August?
I'm looking at planning a trip, and reading about Knott's Berry Farm, and you can obtain tickets about partially price after 4pm, and they're open until 11pm on Saturdays. Do you presume the weather would be nice around that time? Anyone been to Knott's Berry Farm, and is it worth it? Thanks!
Answers:
As far as the weather goes:
It is usually awfully comfortable to fairly hot so it might be a upright idea to stir after 4:00 pm and spend the days at the beaches. (It is much cooler at the sand during the day!) Have Fun!
As far as Knotts Berry Farm go:
I grew up right across the street from Knott’s Berry Farm from the time I was 2 years antiquated until I was 19.
I met the founder Walter Knott when I be a kid, he was other hanging around the tend and was contained by his 70s or 80s but still very friendly to me and answered adjectives of my questions.
Most relatives did not know who he was, so I be always competent to approach him.
In the 1930s he invented the boysenberry by crossing a blackberry with a loganberry.
At that time he be a dirt poor farmer that open a berry stand on Highway 39 (Now called Beach Blvd.) it be along the best route to take to the sand from Los Angeles.
People would buy the newly created boysenberry's to pilfer to the beach for snacks.
When his customers started asking something like hot food, his wife Cordilla Knott went straight into the kitchen and fried up some chicken to shift.
It wasn't long before they started selling boxed chicken dinners to progress.
This became so successful that they open the Chicken Dinner Restaurant that is very soon world famous and still in that today!
Walter wanted to dispense his customers something to do after they got done ingestion at his restaurant.
So he created the Ghost Town, he first gathered up the covered wagon that were solitary by the early California settlers they be just littering the ground at the time, and created a covered wagon circle. He next went to the discarded mining towns that were spread around Southern California and found interesting buildings, He then took them apart piece by piece and reassembled them on his fish farm in a small town fad.
Thus creating Knott’s Berry Farm and Ghost Town.
He preserved and put on display so many things that would own just rotted or would hold been destroyed.
They are still nearby today for you or anyone to see and enjoy.
His first amusement ride be a merry go round.
Since consequently he added many more rides and attractions, this be years before Disneyland be ever thought of.
Walter Knott was the biggest antique collector I ever know!
May he rest in peace.
As I grasp it; the park is now owned by a full-size corporation, but all or at most minuscule most of the original attractions and antiques are still here.
I would highly recommend visit the park while you are in Southern California.
Again Have Fun!
P.S.
The entrance price is half price after 4:00 pm, but when I be a kid the admission be free and you only have to pay for rides and food.
The merely reason within that Walter Knott started charging a quarter ( 25 cents ) to get contained by, was because the Hells Angels (a local motorcycle gang.) be hanging out at the covered wagon and frightening his other customers away.
By charging admission and building a wall around the park he have the right to refuse business to anyone and that solved the problem.
That be in 1965.
The price go up to thirty five cents in 1966.
Since afterwards the price has skyrocketed.
But if you come about to be there contained by December, they will still let you into the Ghost Town for free, so you can Christmas shop near.
<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>
Typically, June through Mid-July is overcast AM, burning sour to hazy sunshine PM.
July and August are hot. Fortunately, KBF is close to the the deep, so it's not as bad as inland. It can catch chilly at night, so devise layers.
It's be a while, but I remember Knott's as being drastically interesting. Outside the park, they had a replica of Philadelphia Town Hall near memorabilia, a real church and I close to the original gibbering west town. They have some roller coasters and stuff, too.
And the food is honest. Make sure to take home some preserve.

The weather is still terribly comfortable. It doesn't start getting hot until mid to late July, or so. Knott's is fun, but I wouldn't plan your entire trip around it. There are heaps other things to do; Disneyland, Universal Studios, Magic Mountain, great beaches, Dodger or Angel games, etc... Good luck and enjoy fun.
You have to get through at Mrs. Knotts Chicken Dinner Restaurant when you visit the park.
If you are still surrounded by the area for the 4th of July turn to Long Beach (Queen Mary) or Huntington Beach Pier to watch the fireworks over the the deep.
It won't be cold, if that's what you're getting at. The weather could be hot. Very hot. However, the typical cut-out is to have fog surrounded by the morning (June Gloom), which burns off, after comes back contained by later surrounded by the afternoon.
Definitely worth it, it's a good deal.
Hott as hell
