I am interested surrounded by moving to Dallas from Chicago, how is the reduction and cost of living?
I perfer a kid friendly neighborhood w/ great schools, parks. and boutiques( I love to shop). Far as work is concerned I would be interested contained by finding out more about retail, bank, and/or office opportunity.
If anyone could give me information on apartment complexes and job I 'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

the northern suburbs in collin and denton counties are booming. homes are nice and college districts are very dutiful. plano, frisco, and mckinney are incredibly great suburbs to start a family, for at hand are plentiful schools, parks, and shopping aresa. You are aways from downtown Dallas, but it is still abundantly nicer in the northern suburbs than it is on the south side of dallas.
The cost of living is getting elevated. There's a lot of "hidden" costs associated beside living in this nouns. If you buy a house expect to pay high-ranking property taxes. Utilities are also high. Living within Dallas is like living contained by the Chicagoland suburbs. If you're used to the urban lifestyle that you find in Chicago, you won't find much of that surrounded by Dallas.
I second Frisco, you should check out Plano too.
I despise Mesquite(sp?) my aunt lives there and she lives within a nice area and it's even getting run down, the arts school district isn't that nice either.
Check out Coppell and N Irving areas. Lots of shopping centers and Vista Ridge shopping arcade, numerous jobs within Las Colinas just to the south.
Dallas is much cheaper than Chicago, the economy similar to the rest of the nation is slowing. Chicago has more museums and culture than Dallas.
Irving and/or Mesquite is *not* where you want to live for honest schools and boutique shopping. Frisco and West Plano both fit the bill, though. Frisco is a relatively bright area, but is outdated enough to be established near safe neighborhoods and excellent school. Plano is closer to Dallas, but not by much, and also has well-mannered schools.
Dallas is set for its shopping - there isn't much else here. You can find boutique shopping (and generic malls and upscale malls) contained by both Frisco and Plano, as well as within Dallas.
Among the other large metropolitan areas within the U.S., Dallas is one of the least expensive cities to live contained by, especially if you're planning on renting an apartment.
For job-hunting, I'd try the usual yahoo! hot jobs, monster.com and careerbuilder.com. There's tons of opportunity here.
One caveat: Dallas is not a walking city. You'll call for a car to drive almost everywhere you walk.
You are perfect for Frisco, TX. Frisco have a huge mall, lots of shopping centers chock-full with retail stores, boutiques, and some of the best restaurants around. There are really fitting restaurants that are not in the shopping centers also. Dallas have some of the best restaurants in the country. Dallas is a huge city so at hand shouldn't be any trouble finding a job here. Frisco, TX, I forgot to mention, is a exceptionally kid friendly area. There are profusely of families here. I don't know the names of any well-mannered neighborhoods off paw but there are some. Frisco have great schools. Dallas also have some of the prettiest churches around. However, looks aren't everything. There are tons of churches in Dallas within which you can feel the spirit move. The discount is great. The Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex is the fourth largest metroplex in the United States as ably as the fastest growing. Dallas also has more shopping per capita than any other city within the United States. Dallas also has deeply of history, and performing arts (Dallas Symphony, Dallas Opera, and some of the best art museums and galleries). I would recommend that you buy this book: Dallas and Fort Worth: A Pictoral Celebration. ISBN: 9781402725616. This book is so informative and has frequent beautiful photographs. I would significantly suggest the Dallas area to anyone. I enjoy traveled all over the country to several cities and Dallas is my favorite of all. God Bless!*

Two years ago, we bought a 1832 sf home on .2 acres contained by a suburb that is pretty comparable to Schaumburg. We compensated $165,000. Based on a quick Realtor poke about, you'd be looking in the $230,000 list in Schaumburg for equal type of house. So yeah - buying a house down here is a LOT easier than up there.
Dallas doesn't manoeuvre up to Chicago as far as cultural opportunities, though. It's much quieter, not as much to do on weekends or surrounded by the evenings. Public transportation in the DFW nouns sucks rocks. Gas is cheaper, though, and while the expressways can get crowded, most of them enjoy frontage roads that are easily accessible and that run the entire length of the expressway, so here are alternates.
And watching them close down the city for 1/4" of snow is hilarious. ::grin::
But considering that we have 70 degrees over the weekend, here are advantages to Texas... ::grin::
I just did the flip side of your coin...I moved from Dallas to Chicago to be closer to my home about 2 years ago and I am going to report to you that is is farway smaller amount expensive to live in Dallas PLUS the certainty the pay up here is LOWER than what you form in Dallas... i enjoy compared craigslist chicago to craiglist dallas and have found that at hand are FAR more job opportunites atthe moment within Dallas( believe it or not)... PlusTexas has no state duty. You will find housing much more affordable and traffic not as horrendous.
The hospitality is nicer, too. I am married and if my husband could get at ransfer to Texas I would pack up my plenty and be back within in a split second...

I lived contained by house in Carrollton for a long time which is not a bleak area , i after moved to Lakewood and rented a small house and Lakewood is GREAT! Check out housing in North Dallas as powerfully and then the UPtown nouns nearthe arts district.. getready for a nice mild winter, no having to shovel snow or de rime your carevery other day but do be prepared for a long hot summer. hey that's what pools are for right!
