Answers:
1. cry
2. no
3. cry
4. fear
5. zilch
I was at work when the Northridge quake happen. I was surrounded by a hospital and they have oodles emergency drills. I made rounds of all of the patient's rooms to trademark sure no one have been injured by any broken cup or falling objects. Everyone was not dangerous, but the building had sustained some chief cracks. I found out then that our window were plexiglass so they buckled, but didnt break.
I've lived surrounded by California most of my life and hold gone through a number of earthquake, so didnt feel any ardent reprocussions. Other than some cracks in my apartment building and broken knickknacks, didnt suffer any monetary problems. The earthquake didnt last that long and I be still doing room checks when it was adjectives over. Some of the aftershocks were pretty intense, but zilch to talk in the region of.
Talking about something I gain from the experieince would be all of my household Back East who called to manufacture sure I was ok. They love me.
I guess that also answers your finishing question. I hope someone who be in those buildings that be destroyed in Northridge is surrounded by YA and can give you a better interview.
I be. Back then, I lived surrounded by Eagle Rock, about 20 miles from the epicenter.

1. First entry I did was hop out of bed, stand within the doorway, and shout "Earthquake! Wake up!" (It was 4:30 AM). Once the shaking stopped, I go outside to check on possible damage (we have just rebuild the chimney 3 months earlier, which have been destabilized in the '71 and '98 quake.) We also had the house bolted to the foundation. This time, we rode out the quake minus any damage. After a couple minutes, my dad and I go up and down the street to check on neighbors. One thing that struck me be how DARK it was. All the power have been knock out to nearly the entire city, so there be was no ambient lighting, which is considerable in LA.

2. Emotional losses? Not really. Slightly shaken, not stirred. Economic? None.

3. See above for allergic reaction during the earthquake.

4. When disasters like this come to pass, we all tend to verbs together. I was struck by the politeness of those on the road for the subsequent few days.

5. My power came wager on on after a relatively short time, around 9 AM. I had be listening to the radio for reports of injury all morning, and later the TV once it came on. I have a dedicated phone strip for my modem, so I was on AOL for hours, giving population reports about areas stricken within the earthquake. People from outside the area weren't competent to call within, but I was competent to make some local phone call and check on people while chatting contained by AOL with worried family member.
Ask Copestir here, she's a quake magnet..LOL...says she have been through a bunch.I own never felt much of anything myself.
1. I flew out of bed to check on my 84-year-old mother who have just arrived for a look in. (It was 4:31 a.m.)
2. Yes, it be very frightening, and in that was pull to our house, so we had to repair it.
3. Attended to my mother and husband, tried to thieve shelter myself.
4. No.
5. Earthquakes are always frightening, and the copious aftershocks were incredibly disturbing. My mother was amazingly calm, adjectives things considered, which helped me relaxed down. This was my largest, and I thought I would die this time. But I didn't, and our house be not as severely damaged as other times, as we be not so close to it. My business was not too scantily disrupted, but I had to check on our clients and projects (I am an architect) and provide plentiful reassurances.
Hi: I be a flight attendant on a layover in Los Angeles during the incident, and be at a large shopping shopping precinct near the hotel. I wasn't extremely close to the epicenter, so my experience be mild compared to some others - and I hope others will respond with more information.

Anyway, I could individual feel a rumble within the flooring and I had a hugely slight feeling of vertigo. It didn't frighten me - I have experienced an earthquake before (where items if truth be told toppled and fell off of shelves). I didn't do anything unthinking - just stood and wait for the moment to pass - and as soon as I get back to my hotel room I switched on the tv to verify that it be an earthquake. Can't really give flawless answers to the last two question - but all earthquake are memorable to those who don't experience them regularly, even if they don't suffer loss or injury. Good luck on your research.
I be staying with my girlfriend within Torrance, about 30 miles from the epicenter.

1. We both woke up, stuff be banging around, but by the time we both woke up fully plenty to realize what was going on, it be over.
2. Nope, no emotional or financial losses - I'm a born and bred Californian, so I'm a bit used to it, which isn't to say it's not alarming. However, my best friend's mother lived in Northridge, damned essential on top of the epicenter. She'd already be having some stimulating and health problems, and it may hold been this that broke her - her condo survived structurally, but the place be trashed. The refrigerator, for instance, was shaken from the kitchen into her dining room, disgorging stuff as it go (or at least that's what it looked similar to the next daylight.) Anyway... her health, already precarious, go dramatically downhill from there and she died single 9 months later. Was it the earthquake, or in recent times the natural progression of virus? I dunno.

3. My girlfriend and I just hung on to respectively other, really. Then I called my roommate at our house, reasonably a bit nearer to the epicenter (about 10 miles) and found out that nothing have happened except a few things have fallen out of cabinet.

4. Nothing, particularly. **** happen.

5. Eh.
The actuall epicenter was contained by Reseda. I was living nearby at the time. I lost my apartment and knew individuals that were trapped for hours inthe condos subsequent door. My friends were related to one of the women lost within the apartment building that fell in Northridge. I have to move. most of my furniture was gone and I done up buying all unusual stuff. i moved to an area that have little damage. Which be wierd because it was onlly a few block away. For the entire AM we have after shocks. and saw the smoke fromthe fires. I remeber just sitting on the curb crying until my familial drove up and took to to my moms house.
that was not until almost cloudy. I just remember how seize it felt to be around my people and the people I love. It feel good to hold a hot bath because I be pretty bruised up from falling objects.
I remember a lot of the ancestors i work with of late backed up and moved. some go ot Washington State and others moved to Texas, another move to New Orlean.. The one from New Orleans had to start over again as he moved fund here after Katrina. I learned zilch really matters but who you love. Remember the Earthquake be not a just sooner or later and it is over ...the after shock created a little more destroy each time we have one and they lasted for years.
1. Tried to leap out of bed..but my husband made me stay in that until the shaking stopped.
2. Yes, was never afraid of quake before this one..I grew up beside quakes..but since later, I am very afraid of quake. Our windows broke, we lost our electricity for soon, our gas for 2 days and a few small items broke along with some pictures falling bad the walls and breaking.
3. Stayed in bed...once the shaking stopped..get under a table newly in time for the 5.5 aftershock.
4. Just a greater foreboding of earthquakes
5. I remember person under the table for the 5.5 aftershock and seeing adjectives the transformers through the window near sparks shooting out of them and felt approaching I was surrounded by a foxhole in a time of war zone..it was a totally surreal experience.
I jumped out of bed and get my little girl out of her bed and braced myself, husband and little girl...Just wanted to be undamaging.
I lost my job. But because I am a social worker I be able to grasp a new one really sudden by Wednesday to help near the emergency. I had some Minor wreck to the house that needed to be repaired.
During the quake I stood in the passageway and braced my self. Soon after I was competent to get my portable TV going and get my family out of the house. It be pitch black and we waited out within the front yard until afternoon break to see what if any damage be done to the house. See, the quake lasted smaller number than a min but we had numerous aftershocks during the time. Those shocks lasted for months after and have us all unnerved for those months. It was difficult to obtain to work for about a year because the freeway overpases be cracked and they would suddenly stop all the traffic to check for overpass safekeeping.
Interestingly enough, the nouns still has disused lots and houses that still have not be reparied from quake damage.
I gain a lot of familiarity on what I value the most and that be my family. Nothing else matter. I became involved surrounded by emergency response.
No, I be nine miles from the epicenter in LaMirada for the Whittier quake contained by about 1988.

1. All three of my boys have left for school-I freaked out because three different school. It was only just about 8:00 AM.
2.No. The after shocks for months after be scary. Insurance covered everything except my $1,000 deductible.
3. Drove to respectively school to grasp my kids . They were adjectives right, the one had gotten knock off his bike have a skinned knee.
4. Yes. Moved to Phoenix, AZ.
5. Once contained by awhile I sense were have another one, even living in Michigan presently.
I was out of town watching TV coverage. I thought at first, it be the 71 quake but then they showed the neighborhood flaming . My whole house be trashed and the office where on earth I work was trashed. I did not work for three weeks and really have no safe place to stay. It be had to win a contractor and it took a year to get the roof replaced. It cost $5,000 deductable. i get married soon after. The wedding terminated up beignreally small...because nothing elese event than to be around my family and loved ones.
