Thinking of moving to California?

Hey all I am originally from Greece, moved to Boston a year ago, but I dislike intensely the cold and the stressful lifestyle here, so I want to give California a shot...How is the available job market? population? real estate?

Answers:
i lived contained by LA for 13 years and just not long moved to san diego. there are oodles jobs within LA, many of which are in a minute taken by illegal immigrant.

the people are usually rude and impatient, and you'll see heaps talking on their cell phones while surrounded by public places like stores and restaurants, which get annoying after a while.

the real estate open market appears to be coming down, after many unsuccessful attempts to go my house. however, its still EXTREMELY high compared to boston.

however, the weather and shore is worth it all :D i prefer san diego to live within, LA to visit, because the population tend to be more laid back. however, its pretty expensive down here too, and within certain areas the race are pretty rude as well...

fitting luck =]
Job market is virtuous but it depends on what you're looking for. Unless you have boatloads of money, you can't afford to buy anything. The general public are busy and not especially friendly. And the traffic will drive you insane.

The weather, however (when we're not having 90 point, 10% humidity, Santa Ana winds and fires) is perfection.
Born & raise in So-cal
Absolutely charming.
But housing costs are outrageous.
If you're going to buy, I'd recommend something outside of LA, such as Santa Clarita, Palmdale/Lancaster, Victorville, or San Bernadino.
All or only a few hours away from beachs & mountains.

I believe that minimum wage is 7.50-8.00 an hour.
i have lived within cali all my life span. I live in Los Angeles. At the moment a single room apartment contained by a decent nouns with angelic access to freeways and public trans goes from $1000-1500 bucks depending on the luxury you want. Job souk depends on what field you're contained by. People... uh... they suck kinda shallow and tend to be rather short temper. BUT you can find groups of people that are more laid rear legs and easy to be next to. Really it depends on you. If you want to buy a house it starts at about 600,000 and condos are on ave. 350,000. The just thing is the concrete estate market is fruitless so you can negotiate some good extras or buy down your interest rate.
try compton or watts, its cheap here lots of friendly people and great running exercise cant lash that
Don't know if this tid-bit helps (but) I get Calif is the only state that does not have need of the other 49 states. In other words they have 'everything' they obligation right in Calif.
So, the opportunity market is widespread open (and the 2nd intention is...) all the nation who don't want to work and live off the state's un-employment system.
The nation change as per what-ever city your contained by. (good, bad, and the make a contribution a toot group).
Real estate? Bring l-o-t-s of m-o-n-e-y friend. You ain't gon'ah believe the prices.
You'll see some flea-trap-dump (in a good location) going for partially a mil. Naturally, if you go out voice 2 or 4 hours from a major city (L.A. or San Francisco) cost are not "too" doomed to failure.
>> A little friendly advice << "Smile and be nice to EVERYONE..." You never know when you might be chitchat to a Movie Scout. One good shot and you could be within the "BIG BUCK" before you know it.

Because California is so fine you will find the real estate expensive and the mission market tight (difficult to find a job)...but if you want to go their call round it first.I would recommend northern California over southern...so take a trip, and if you agree on to move line up a chore before you travel unless you have ample cash to sustain a long commission hunt. other places to think almost...Hawaii (also expensive but gorgeous) Oregon, Washington State, New Mexico.
