Where's a nice, domestic friendly town between Houston, TX and the coast of the gulf?
Wanting to move to Houston area, but we enjoy 2 small children and do not want to be in a generous city like Houston. Would prefer to be close to the coast. What are some nice small towns (pop. around 15-20000) that would get good ancestral homes and are affordable to rent in?

Clear Lake is really nice, its almost right inbetween Houston and Galviston. Yes, within is a big lake too.
My best friend lives in attendance and I love going out there. It is also right subsequent to Kemah which is very domestic friendly!
The areas I know just outside of Houston towards Galveston Island would own to be...Friendswood, La Porte, Bay Area-Webster (NASA) or Alvin.

Pasadena--the southern part of town is really nice- strange schools, great shopping. Also proximate Deer Park.
why dont u move to the clear lake/ kemah area?
it is a tremendously nice family friendly place to live!
The Woodlands or Conroe area is nice for family
check the tax rates beforehand you buy. some of these "small town" school taxes are outrageous!!
where on earth is the new livelihood?
I grew up contained by League City with my 3 siblings. We lived (my parents still live) on the hose down and it was superb. There are lots of huge oak trees and despite the growing population, they have a small town mentality and attitude (in a biddable way).
I moved out to the Heights after I finished college and then down to the West extension of Galveston (Campeche Cove/Jamaica Beach area) and ended up settling right vertebrae in League City to put on a pedestal my family.
My husband and son love it and near are always accomplishments going on, not to mention great schools (CCISD), nice parks and fantastic neighbors.
Clear Lake, Pearland, Friendswood, Alvin, Seadrift, Winney, there's a few.
Webster and Santa Fe, dormant towns and just 10 mins from some river!
