I'm going to Texas for 2 weeks (near Dallas)...what are the best things to do next to my time?!?

Staying with boyfriend's relatives fundamental Dallas, but thinking of hiring a car to drive to New Orleans and backbone. Only have 2 weeks (in September). We are surrounded by our early 20s. What just about Dallas for activities, nightlife, etc? Not too bothered roughly speaking shopping. Interested in history, wildlife, drinking, intake etc and we are vegetarians!

Answers:
Night life within Dallas is wonderful.
Greenville Ave. is great for night duration,
if you like to drink and drink.
Being a vegeterian is a tough one for Texas.
We're southern, we love bbq and what not.
But i'm assuming any restaurant will have salads and stuff.

Also try Deep Ellum,
great hours of darkness life as economically.
I'd suggest Purgatory,
that's my favorite club.

During the day,
We own musuems everywhere.
Downtown is where theyre adjectives located at,
And the Rodeo is fun as well.
Thats surrounded by Mesquite.

Have fun.
:]
Have to buy some boots and a stetson. Go to Southfork.
Visit my sister and her husband in Fort Worth and vote Hi from Dels in England.
You being a lacto-vegetarian throws a kink in my answer because Dallas is a great steak town...anyways, in that are lots of things to see and keep your days settled. As far as nightlife goes, check out Deep Ellum and West End - right within downtown Dallas - for lots of bars, restaurants and spring clubs. Also, venture on to Greenville Avenue on Friday or Saturday darkness for more entertainment. Lots of good drinking joint filled beside college-aged people (SMU is in the vicinity there).

Dallas also has a nice aquarium and art museum (downtown) and I would also recommend you clutch a 30 minute drive to Fort Worth and check out some of their western flair.

New Orleans is a great idea - again, they hold such awesome Cajun food, but what can I say, the lacto-vegetarian thing... emphatically go to the French Quarter lots of bar with every quality of drinking you can imagine (try a HandGranade but please, please help yourself to your time drinking it)...you can even drink on the streets while walking around...lots of blues and jazz bar...visit Cafe DuMond while you're near for good coffee and donuts...check out Harrah's Casino - and if you win, dispatch me 10%.

Have a great time!!
Dallas can be nice, lots of museums and restaurants. If you are getting a coup¨¦, consider staying in Texas to some extent than driving to New Orleans. There are some areas that have recovered and trunk businesses are getting back into file, but the overall city is still severly damaged after Hurricane Katrina. Crime is New Orleans is currently greater than usual probably due to the high severance following the storm.

Within 5 hours of Dallas, you have:
Fort Worth - the Cowtown
lots of art and science museums, great cultural districts and the Stockyards nouns with Billy Bob's

Austin - State funds, LBJ library/museum, the Austin-San Antonio Entertainment Corridor with several small Hill country towns, several lake, rivers, a lot of German and Czech influences, and a nice wine country tour.

San Antonio - The River City. Lots of sites to see as tourism is one of the biggest draws to San Antonio. The Riverwalk nouns is great with shops, restaurants and clubs. The Mission Trail, 5 dated Spanish missions, including the Mission San Antonio de Valero (the Alamo) Sea World, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and several museums and art galleries. Stong Mexican Flavor.

Houston - the Oil Boom Town - the largest city contained by Texas with a Six Flags matter Parl, the San Jacinto Memorial, several museums, near Galveston (if you stay contained by Galveston stay at the Hotel Galvez) NASA (Johnson Space Flight Center), and the Kemah Boardwalk area. Most industrial of the Texas cities.

Also consider South Padre Island (further than 5 hours) the best beach on the Gulf Coast.

ALso just so you deduce... if you are in Texas you hold to drink Margaritas. It is a state law, LOL
How roughly speaking going to a rodeo? There's one east of Dallas in Mesquite.

It'll be fun! The animals are 'pros', raise for this work, and they have pretty cushy lives since they're so valued. And it's a hoot to survey the locals :)
Save New Orleans for subsequent, it's a long drive for a very crime riddled town. I've met associates from there, pre-Katrina, that won't budge back.

Dinosaur Valley State Park [south of Glen Rose] contained by Texas, has actual footprints within the riverbed. Fossil Rim has tree houses so you can spend a darkness w/animals roaming below. Instead of New Orleans try Galveston Texas. Just be sure to use a good map/mileage planner, most company underestimate the size of Texas. Don't bother w/6-Flags, expensive & forgettable. The towns of Boerne & Bandera are like the Old West, but definite right down to horses in front of diners, not a tourist show. If you similar to WWII South Pacific history the Nimitz museum in Fredericksburg is a must see, adjectives 3 towns are in the Hill Country.

Let me know if you own questions.
Have FUN!

History...stir to the JFK museum...

nightlife...west village, Deep Ellum, or for upscale nightlife be in motion to Addison.

The FortWorth Zoo for wildlife...much better than the Dallas Zoo..

Eating check out MiCocina in West Village...great fishing rod in front, great place to inhabitants watch handsome people.it is Mexican food though.

New Orleans is roughly speaking a 10- 12 hour drive from Dallas...so, quite a drag

best of luck.
You'll want to witness Billy Bob's in Fort Worth. In reality, check out all of fort worth. Art, history, the stockyards, sundance square...

I don't know what to report to you about food. Maybe some other Texan can crawl you in on the best rabbit food contained by town.

Enjoy your visit, and ya'll come spinal column now, ya hear!
