Does the Mirage distribute complimentary room upgrades at check within if you ask?
Going to the Mirage the 3rd week in April on a Tuesday and Wednesday darkness.
I reserved a regular room but am hoping they will bump me up to the larger room with the jacuzzi tub. Do I hold a chance or will i own to pay (aside from pissing away money on the slots)?

If they enjoy the room open, they will probably impart it to you. But, if it's a full house, it's not going to happen.
You would own to be a pretty high roller to receive that.
Here are two things you can try.

The $20 trick works almost 85% of the time at the Mirage according to the web site.
You hold a much-much better chance of getting that upgrade if you are checking contained by Sunday through Thursday. Tuesday and Wednesday should give you a great shot at a really nice upgrade. A small suite with a jacuzzi is entirely possible.
For a nice room next to a view, $20 is fine. $50 for a jacuzzi suite is more approaching it. But, try asking nice first to see what his/her reaction is. But, own the cash surrounded by your hand already, and if they show the slightest suspicion, "flash the cash" >be subtle<<
The $$(20 or whatever) does NOT get hand to the desk clerk along with your CC & ID the method the site suggests.
You hand him/her your CC & ID beside your right hand, the $$ stays within your left mitt, but visible, as you ask for that "complimentary" upgrade. This will not be their first time, he/she will know what's going on.
When you achieve the keys to your upgrade, that would be when you thank, him/her and endow with them the $$ handshake.

<added> We spend moderately a bit of time in LV(55 night last year) and enjoy for over 20 years. I get what I ask for anymore almost 100% of the time. Simply because I know what to ask for, how and what they enjoy to offer.

You can also let them know that you are celebrate a special occasion. Whether you are or not! Anniversary, Birthday, Divorce, etc.

ask for a room next to a view..i did, get the penthouse for 80 bucks a night..
