Where are some great places to live surrounded by LA?

I'm moving down to LA from ID, but no worries-I'm originally from NJ-so not too much of a shock to my system. I'm just wondering since I may or may not be moving down in that with my best friend. HELP! This will be my first time surrounded by CA-so yes I'm nervous. Any planning would help.

Malibu is really fun to be within. There are many beachs close to by but that depends on where you live surrounded by Malibu. Also everything in LA is tremendously expensive!
L.A. is expensive and some parts are down right frickin' upsetting! HOWEVER, I've lived here almost 40 yrs. and theres no place like it. Its wonderful. My Hubby is from N.J. and he LOVES it here and would never live anywhere else. Although he be back surrounded by N.J. during the '94 earthquake on business I often wonder if he would conveyance his mind had he be here. LOL! No matter where on earth you go be cheerful and enjoy!
I live surrounded by the Downtown area of Los Angeles specified as the "Fashion District". I love it, they have a short time ago recently (about three years ago) begin constructing lofts on old buildings, and lots of those are flocking to buy or rent one of these places. The place where I live used to be a hotel put money on in the 30's and they've rennovated and mondernized the place. Its pricey but in good health worth it. You get a great panorama of downtown LA and a charming almost New York-ish vibe from it. Other nice areas to live in LA are West Hollywood, Burbank, Echo Park, and my favorite Silverlake.

MALIBU!? You gotta be kid Blue Eyed Gal? Malibu is freaking burning right now.
Beverly Hills, Malibu, or West Hollywood.
It's really expensive. Some cheaper areas are Eagle Rock/Glendale but they are still pretty clothed. I would suggest moving to a moderately priced place with no lease until you find the nouns you want to settle down in.
I was fretful driving through the turnpike and smelling shoe leather. Sinatra and Stuttering John Melendez stayed here. It always depends on where on earth you are going to work if applicable. People in LA love their suburbs Those who live and work surrounded by Downtown are as happy as can be. The homeless bestow it a bad rap and create a discouraging scene. Malibu, Marina Del Rey, some sections of Hollywood, Santa Monica and Westwood are praiseworthy. Though some of these and some beaches (Santa Monica, Redondo, Manhattan, etc ) are not LA per se, they are great areas. Relax and receive as many true friends as you can. They will guide you through the process of settling here.

We see this over and over contained by this forum: Everyone hears roughly speaking the great weather in SoCal or believes they are the subsequent great actor/model/singer, then starts looking for the "cheap, verbs, and safe". It's all almost supply and demand: If it's contained by SoCal, then it's not going to be cheap to start off with. If it's verbs and safe, consequently it's more expensive. If you need dutiful schools, donate a couple hundred bucks a month on top of it.

If you want to live here and wallow in the weather, then you hold to pay for it. You put up beside the smog and the traffic, enjoy the weather and settle up your rent or mortgage.
