How cold is New York contained by Jan , Feb?
I need to do some sketches within NY, not sure how cold it is? can I stick out my hands or at least possible be outside all daytime in Jan, Feb?
How almost Boston too?
thanks.
Answers:
Avg highs contained by the low 30's F. I would imagine Boston is for a moment lower.
junuary adn february are the coldest months of the year, and it will be fking cold here in the northeast. fking, close to FKING cold.
Don't know more or less Boston, but very regularly in January we win a warmer week, fairly like a "January thaw out." That's happening this coming week, when they vote on Tuesday it will get up to 60 degree. This is amazing given that during the past week we have temperatures contained by the teens.
February is usually our worst month. I don't know how comfortable you would be sitting outside in NY on a typical January or February sunshine. Mostly, temps in the 40s are considered "warm" during those months.
jan is bitter cold. brutal cold at times.
Feb can be mild to unbearable cold.
Yes, it's true: New York can be bitterly cold surrounded by the winter. The same goes for Boston, and I've lived within too.
That said, there are also times contained by which Mother Nature gives us an unpredicted respite . . . every now and after, the sun will peek out and reheat things up a bit, and there's jubilation and exultation in the streets!
You can't count on that, without a doubt, and you don't have too: There are lots, many artists within this town, and I see lots of them sketching in the comatose of winter. This ranges from the commercial sketch artists in Times Square, to the painter along the pathways of Central Park. If they can do it, so can you; right?
Just be sure to bring gloves for the tramp to and from your sketch location, and take frequent "breaks" to heat up those hands!
Good luck, and savour New York and Bosto!
