New Orleans hotel recommendation for Jazz Fest?
Hello - My husband and I are planning to go to NO for the Jazz Festival this year. I am looking for suggestions on where on earth to stay as far as area (i.e. French Quarter) and which hotel.
We're staying from April 26 - May 4, so I am also looking for warning on the best way to book a hotel to seize the best price on travel sites (i.e. should I break the trip up rather than inquiring for the entire 8 night stay at once?)

You might also look into staying at a bed & breakfast to hand the Fairgrounds. There are some good ones in the neighbourhood City Park such as Degas House. The streetcar goes directly down Canal Street to downtown and the French Quarter.
check out this site www.vrbo.com
you will love this site for rooms
It might be unyielding to get a room as oodles places book up way surrounded by advance but I infer this is a wonderful place. They are close to the bus route to take you to the dancing in the streets and walkable to every attraction in the Quarter.

I recommend staying surrounded by the French Quarter (Vieux Carre") if you can. There is a very cavernous range of selection available, from moderate guest houses to very exclusive "boutique" hotels. Search Yahoo Travel and Travelocity for thinking and also check the hotel websites.
The Jazz Festival website - http://www.nojazzfest.com/ - has a contact to hotels that lists prices. Also check: www.frerchquarterhotels.com
Note that the Jazz Festival is not downtown and is over 2 miles from the French Quarter. The Regional Transit Authority - http://www.norta.com/ - will run shuttles and abundant of the hotels will provide transportation. There are also lots of taxicabs. However, it is NOT natural to drive to JazzFest and "find somewhere to park". That is a recipe for getting towed.
Hope you have a great time!
rooms book instrument in credit might be better to go online and see what's available after come back here and ask give or take a few a specific hotel.
for instance the Windsor Court is one of the best in the country but it's also the most expensive.
