Whats it resembling living surrounded by Chicago?
I went on a trip beside my parents and I liked the city and everything, but i wanna know what's it really close to to live there?
I simply ask because I may want to move there when I achieve older.

It's not that expensive to live here, unless you hold expensive tastes and basically HAVE to live in the ritzy neighborhood. You can find a fully clad one bedroom in a clad neighborhood for about $700-800 near one more more utilities inclued. There is clothed public transportation so you won't need a saloon (the bus and train are $2 per ride unless you get a special transit card, next it's even cheaper). There are a bunch of good grocery stores, roomy and small, with polite prices because they have to compete beside each other. A million bar and they all compete near each other too for your business so they contribute drink specials ($5 pitcher, $3 beer, etc. but you're prorbably too young to hear around that right?). There are a bunch of stores with discount clothing close to TJ Maxx, Marshalls, H&M, Filene's basement (designer clothes at discount prices). There are free days at the museums, free movies contained by the parks in the summer, free concerts at Taste of Chicago (this year nation saw Maze, Black Crowes and Cheap trick for FREE).
Chicago is NOT that expensive if you know how to search out deal.
Its really great! Chicago's nickname is "city within the garden" so it has lots of parks. Its correct for people of late out of collage. Its one of the best places in the world!
It's wonderful! but it can be expensive.
There's also living in "chicago" and living around Chicago - contained by the suburbs (or outskirts of the city). These are two quite different lives. city have the hustle-bustle and excitement and baseball parks and museums, etc. It also has expensive rent food, gas and no place to park.
Chicago is truly a city full of individual neighborhoods. You live in Lincoln Park, Wrigleyville, Logan Square, Andersonville, Lincoln Square, Hyde Park, South Shore, Beverly, etc. And respectively neighborhood is a mini-city unto itself. They have their own festival, and shopping districts, etc. They're often 'known' for the citizens residing there - i.e. Singles, yuppies, hispanics, family, gays, irish, german, etc.
The good report is there is excellent public transportation no business where you live.

Well, similar to any city, there are pros and cons. The pros are that Chicago is a exceptionally exciting city. It's hard to be bored here. There are other festivals and concerts, great museums, art, and theater, and terrific restaurants. The lagoon is beautiful, and have a wonderful bike trail all the passageway along it. The city's very walkable, and have good public transportation to carry you around. And there are lots of empire to talk to, who are, for the most cog, very friendly. Chicago have a lot of fun neighborhoods beside their own character, and that's also thoroughly cool, to wander through, influence, Chinatown and then a morning later be up on Devon wandering through what looks resembling India.
The cons, though, are legendary. The winters are awful - extremely cold, and while the city doesn't shut down by any finances, it makes it much harder to find around. The contrast of the city in winter and summer is amazing - in that are so many smaller amount people on the street, and everything is so grey - adjectives the beautiful flowers and trees are of late gone in winter. Even the sea isn't blue - it's just frozen over.
Also, the city is tremendously busy. It's constantly loud. It's not until you get a bit outside the city into the suburbs that you realize how much you operate with sirens and the L train ratification overhead all the time. And adjectives those things to do gets expensive. It's not a cheap place to live - not as discouraging as San Francisco or Boston, by any means, but still expensive. And the traffic is tremendously bad profoundly of the time - you can drive, but it's a hassle.
That said, though, it really is an exciting place to be. I think it's absolutely worth living in for a while. The city's great fun, and there's so much to do - it's clearly worth trying out.
Chicago is wonderful!! I live in the 'burbs, but I'm contained by the city quite habitually since a lot of domestic lives downtown.
Like everyone else is saying, it's to some extent expensive to live in the city, but try to get hold of a roommate. It's better to split the cost if you're going to live here.
Also, be careful what neighborhood you live within. While there's great, safe places to live; there's also shady parts of the city that aren't too locked.
There are some companies that help those find apartments in the city. They can aid direct you to the safer places.
If you can find an apartment close to public transportation, you wont need a vehicle..so think of the money youll let go there.
And nearby are trains that go to and from the suburbs, its call Metra.
Yes theres downtown city living and theres city living thats more like the suburbs..it depends on what you similar to.
Long winters and traffic are two bad things roughly speaking chicago...but there are so several great things.. theatre, shopping, summer festival, great food, and big blue Lake Mich.
And for holidays and weekends, its a short drive to pretty places like Lake Geneva, Wisconsin or South Haven,Michigan..theres lots of adjoining places to escape to..
Expensive as hell! So if you are used to living a middle class lifestlye, better stay within suburbs. Personally, I live in the city, If I could, I'd live surrounded by the burbs. Really depends on where you are moving from.
