I would hold to agree with the personality who said Leavenworth, this is my absolute favorite winter destination surrounded by the State of Washington. There is nothing close to have your child's picture taken beside Santa outside when the snow lightly falling, the set being a solid Bavarian Villiage. Gorgeous! This town is also beautiful surrounded by the Summer months. Anyway, check it out I think you will relish it. However if you are new to driving surrounded by the snow, make sure you dance on a day when within is no snow in the forecast and the pass are clear.
Go to the Sno-Park contained by Hyak, just bygone the summit at Snoqualmie. You have to buy a day-use area monopoly online before you dance...I think it's around $7. Check out the Washington state parks' website for details.
It have 2 nice sledding hills that are fun but not too big...we took my son final year when he was three and the hill were newly big enough to be THRILLING to him but not too SCARY. Have fun!
Check out the washington state parks for their sno-parks. You'll obligation a permit to park, some parks are for snowmobiling and snoshoeing surrounded by addition to sledding, and you'll enjoy to bring all of your own gear.
Next year, look into what some of the city rec departments are doing. Everett parks and rec have a trip for ages 3+ that includes tubing, a horse pulled sleigh ride and a bonfire on a farm effective Easton.
If you want to take them to a totally exquisite winter wonderland, drive over to Leavenworth. It's the Bavarian village and it's relations oriented, friendly, and beyond doubt gorgeous in the mountains. Plus they usually return with quite a bit of snow. The entire town is lit up for Christmas.
If you don't want to drive that far, you can newly head up to Stevens or Snoqualmie Pass, but if you're going to shift that far, Leavenworth is only a bit further. There's a small sled mount right in the center of town too for kids.
I'm with Wintergirl - Leavenworth is wonderful! There are closer places but not nearly as pretty and as fun - especially this time of year. I'm heading out Sunday with my friend who's visit from Florida. There's also sleigh rides this time of year. I bet your kids would LOVE that! http://www.icicleoutfitters.com/wintersl...
As for suggestions - make sure they hold waterproof snowpants and jacket on. Jeans soak through as do cloth mittens. Target has inexpensive "flying saucer" disks and sleds
I would agree with Leavenworth. It have a little bit of everything for the kids and for you. But if you do not want to step that far just drive up to one of the ski resorts close to Snoquamine or Stevens and just play surrounded by the snow near the lodge. That opening you can play with the kids but be close food and bathrooms
