What is the most adjectives city to stay contained by Maui?
We are planning a trip to Maui. We will only be nearby for 3 days. What is the most common city to stay contained by where we can see the popular highlights. Not looking for seclusion as we will enjoy the kids with us. Also if you enjoy any suggestions on what to do...

Anywhere near the beach.
Probably Kihei--that's where here are affordable condos, and it's easy to take to both sides of the island. Kaanapali is the other choice.
Kaanapali/Lahaina
The only places that would come close to person cities on Maui are Wailuku & Kahului, but they are not the parts of the island where tourists usually stay. Most tourists stay any in Kaanapali on the west side of the island or Wailea on the south shore. Kihei, also on the south shore, is also a popular destination, which is not as expensive (or as nice) as the other two places. If you are solitary going to be there 3 days, I would make a contribution the nod to Kaanapali; I think it would be a bit easier to see more from in that. It is close to Lahaina, which is a fun town to browse & shop. If you are coming soon, a whale watching cruise would be a must do. If your kids aren't too little, a drive up to the top of Haleakala would be fun. Little kids are more succeptable to altitude sickness, so I would not recommend that unitl your kids are 10 or so.
