PRO - vacation capitol of the world, spread out 24/7 365 days - inexpensive food - great extertainment including shows and a few Broadway plays like Jersey Boys (just opened) - wonderful weather years round seldom snow or precipitation - gambling from one cent to thousands near a chance of feeling like and controlled by the NV Gaming Comission so there is no cheating by customers or casinos - and a regular city near lots to do (see www.lasvegasnow.com) including museums, aqauriums, movies, bowling, hiking, biking, cyclying, etc.
CON - you have to adjust to the summer steam and learn not to travel outside unless you want to sweat a lot - hordes of company on a continual basis - soaring property taxes - high DMV licenscing and insurance rates - middle of the Mohave Desert - everyone seem to want to move to MY city.
Been here almost four decades and I love Vega$
On the PRO side, nearby are probably more interesting and exciting things to do in Las Vegas than within any city in the world.
It is the premiere place for making a bet of any kind
Roughly twice as plentiful stage shows as New York City
More great places to eat than only just about anywhere
You could spend weeks, if months, just enjoy the free
shows and sights.
It's almost always sunny
