How much snow does chicago draw from contained by the winter?

Around 15 inches or so, but across the world not all at once. Actually, the bigger problem beside winter isn't so much the snow. There's usually not a crazy amount of snow. It's the cold. Once it snows, it doesn't melt - it's newly too darn cold to do that. So it just description of hangs around. It's not resembling, say, Denver, which get more snow, but where it adjectives melts the subsequent day.
It depends. Usually between 10-15 inches, but not necessarily at one time. In the winter of 98, we had a huge blizzard and it snowed similar to 20". BUT unlike most cities, we use salt to liquefy the ice and the roads and sidewalks can be cleared hastily. Its usually safe to drive around after the rime trucks are out.
Haha way too much. It sucks but at one and the same time its kinda cool.

too much, haha. usually we own a few snow storms that result in 6 or so inches on the ground. usually we'll own 1-2 really BIG snow storm each winter, the ones that close school and delay flights and label everyone all worried. but we'll get in the region of 20 warnings of such storms. but snow plows, snow blowers and saline help profusely. most people surrounded by Chicago have widely read how to deal next to it and it's no big thing. a moment ago a minor annoyance.
I would guess about 45 " as an average over the years although lately it has not accumulate more 3 '. Check for yourself at the noaa site below. Note 1977-78 and 1978-79 for almost double my estimated average:
