How long will it clutch me to drive to Los Angeles?
Im coming from San Diego to go call on UCLA, and I have to be in that by 11 am. Do you have any opinion what time i should leave since i enjoy no idea what traffic is close to in LA, and considering time to drive and gain to the school.
Hopefully someone know the area and the drive all right?

So much depends on the time and daytime...
Because you don't want to be late, and you are not aware with the nouns, I would simply leave VERY rash and assure that. Leave at 7 and just don't verbs about it. Get parked, find your means of access to your destination, and if you have any extra time after negotiate all that traffic within rush hour, sit relaxing with your book and cool your jet for a little while.
I would prefer that to the alternative of adjectives it too close.
PS No way is it a moment ago 90 minutes!
Deanna, this is ridiculous...If it's important travel the night earlier like Obviousman suggested.There simply is no unfolding how many different ways you could obtain hung up...It could take you rather a while just to find parking and stroll to your meeting alone...any that or leave at 6:00 within the morning...
I know the area and the drive ably. However, it is difficult to predict traffic. I-5 can be very tricky. And UCLA is on the west side of LA, which funds you have to any try the 405, which is ALWAYS prone to bad traffic, or come up the 5 to the 10 west. (Sort of similar to choosing 5 or 805 in SD).
If I be driving, I would try to be on the road at 7.
If I have the option, I'd come up the dark before and stay at the Hotel Angelino, which is 2 minutes from campus, so I wouldn't be unsettled.
Leave at 8:00 AM; you'll be plenty nontoxic. Have fun in LA.

The drive itself isn't all that long. About 90 minutes on a accurate day.
However... The time you necessitate to be at UCLA and the day you'll be driving way your journey will steal a lot longer than 90 minutes. If it be me driving... I'd leave roughly speaking 7-7:30 am. You'll be hitting rush hour traffic for part of your visit. Also the traffic and pedestrian traffic in Westwood around UCLA is vastly congested around the time you'll be arriving. So keep that surrounded by mind as well.
As for parking... UCLA is a BIG campus. Stop by the information and parking booths (there's currently 11 of these) to find the closest spread out lot to where you want to be, on campus, that company are permitted to use.
Assuming you'll be on the 405 for the last slice of your drive... Exit on Sunset East. Take Sunset East to Westwood Plaza. Turn Right on Westwood Plaza. Drive straight, and you'll see an Information and Parking booth directly ahead.
it really depends what day you prefer to drive up there. because if you do it during the week than the traffic will be even longer. i outstandingly suggest leaving around 7:30am if you plan on taking the 5 freeway.
the conservatory is pretty big so you never know if you will get lost along the process.
besides, it doesnt hurt to be early.

On a weekday, from San Diego (you don't influence where - South cove or North county?) start at 6AM. You will be passing through San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles morning traffic.
If you receive there rash, do some exploration and eat some food.
On a weekend, between 7 and 8am. Traffic is pretty flawless.
