Hi

It depends which direction you want to take, but if you to the south shore, they hold a great beach contained by plymouth. There are plenty of restaurants close by, and a huge stretch of beach.
If you own never been at hand, it has alot of historical features also. Horseneck Beach surrounded by Dartmouth/Westport, has great side and is more secluded than plymouth, much quieter. Hope this help.

The Cape has plentifully of great beaches..Hyannis is not too expensive and Kalmus Beach is handsome, Chatham is a bit pricier but also beautiful beach and fun town to walk around within. Also, Jamestown, RI is also very pretty and a great sand town. I wouldn't head too far north if you approaching going into the ocean and don't want freezing cold dampen!
OOB as another soul posted is an insane tiny beach beside lots of people and - if your into that fine - its inwardly your 3 hour time requirement (I work in the surrounding area - year round - I know the insanity)
Plymouth IS nice.As is Marshfield & Duxbury - both beach towns surrounded by some lovely state forests.
Hull,Cohassett and Scituate are also "quaint" and are on the South Shore - in an hour or so of Boston.Hull has the Clarion hotel right on Nantasket shoreline & some really nice restaurants.
Good luck & Congrats
The Cape is always honest. . . .You could go to Falmouth or Hyannis pretty cheap during the week. Old Silver Beach is amazing. Try to find a tie up hotel because you'll get better discounts than some of the local places, at smallest that's what I have found.

The other option would be to go north, and check out some beach of NH or Maine, but personally, I presume the Cape is much nicer, and you will really be able to relax.

Have fun, and congrats!
Old Orchard Beach, Maine. There are numerous motels that are near your price continuum. The good entity is you can actually drive at hand and find a motel when you get in attendance. Vacancy signs go up around 11:00am when inhabitants check out.
