It is waaaayyyy too far out to tell.
It is a possibility, but it is a possibility for anyone along the gulf. Right presently it looks like it will hit Mexico, possibly Brownsville, but its projected path change about every 2 hours. Its only too unpredictable. A lot of places use what is called a 3,2,1 rule. When it is roughly 3 days out, it could strike ANYWHERE surrounded by a 300 mile area. 2 days out a 200 miles nouns and 1 day out a 100 mile nouns. Even that 1 day out can niggardly the difference between getting practically demolished, and getting a bright sunny day.
Dean is still AT LEAST 4 days out, probably more. Just hold an eye on the weather channel. Stock up on some can foods (dont go overboard, though) catch some fresh batteries for your flashlights and stock up a first aid gear. Better to be safe than sorry, but no idea to panic and return with worked up or worried about it;)

CNN is projecting it to run towards Mexico/Texas border, but right now it is instrument to early. Louisiana have even put in a state of emergency to attain the state guard ready only in crust. My grandfather lives in Corpus Christi contained by a mobile home, and we have call him to let him know, fitting thing because his freestyle in his saloon died and he had to seize it replaced. Hopefully you won't have to turn through this one. But forecasters have said that they expect 6-7 name storms I think for this season to get Category 4 or 5 strength.
It is too hasty to tell. Hurricanes can be deeply unpredictabe. Right now 90% of the models enjoy Dean eventually making landfall around Tampico, Tamps., Mexico, but that could change.

well, as of this morning, Dean is head for the south Texas coast. Brownsville has already started voluntary evacuations.
It could still relocate course, so better to be prepared, but it doesn't look to hit Houston directly.
But we will see a helluva lot of rain!

It's still too soon to describe. Though I can tell you my brother is a meteorologist for the Air Force and if things verbs as they are, the military model has forcasted the eye of Dean to surpass over Houston on Wednesday morning. Let's hope something changes between presently and then.

it's too far out to say for sure where on earth it's going to hit, these systems wobble and change direction too hastily - remember Rita? Just keep an eye on the weather bridge, and not just the local ones - they other try to whip everyone into a frenzy so you won't tuning the channel.
