Moving to Chicago? Good Idea or Not?
Okay, Well we want to move to Chicago. We currently live in Kentucky. We own some cousins that live up there and that will backing us with getting a employment and an apartment. But were rather scared? How is Chicago, I've never be there.
Also I enjoy a daughter thats 14, thats right now going to 9th class. How are the schools up near?
Do they wear uniforms or not?
Do they ride buses'?
Just could i draw from some information, Please and Thanks!!

It's clean, pious schools depending on where on earth you go and same beside the uniform thing, I'm sure buses are available. honestly, i come up with it is much better than kentucky. but you need to soak up lots of action and a city lifestyle.
My sister just moved to Chicago a couple of months ago. She loves the culture, the feel, etc. Chicago is really really expensive to live surrounded by. I'm living in St. Louis, which is profoundly cheaper!! My cousins go to private school, because some of the schools are not so apt, but it really depends on the areas, which of course go with how much the houses cost. My cousins don't wear uniform, but some of the public schools do. I've see a lot of academy buses there, but most parents saunter or drive their kids to school, depends on how comfortable you are beside the area. There is other something to do in Chicago, but it have more of the "rushed" feel. Having spend a great deal of time in both Chicago and St. Louis, St. Louis is seriously nicer public. Good Luck
Before you decide on moving, you may want to filch a trip there (extended if possible) so that you can see what enthusiasm is like. Some family like the destruction and the hustle of the "city life", so they opt to live in the city proper. Others, who want the benefits of living in the vicinity Chicago without if truth be told living in it, prefer the suburbs; the just catch nearby is the commute back and forth to work (assuming you stir for jobs in the city).
As for schools, they're simply like everywhere else. You hold your good and unpromising ones. There are specialty schools, private school, etc... I'm not sure if Chicago Public Schools have a specific dress uniform, but I do know that at hand are dress codes that are enforced.
Here are a few things to keep surrounded by mind, not meant to terrify you, but just to seize you informed.
1. The cost of living in Chicago, as very well as the surrounding suburbs, is greater than most of the country (save for possibly NYC, LA and Hawaii).
2. The tax rates (sales, property, etc...) are some of the absolute in the Midwest.
3. The rent on an apartment might cost you alike per month as the mortgage for your house (assuming you own) in Kentucky. Again, in that are certain areas that are more or smaller amount than others, but the neighborhood/suburb factors into that.
4. Cars. I'm not sure how abundant you have, but unless you buy a house that's lucky plenty to have a garage, or rent from a condo/apartment complex next to a parking structure, you'll have to pay packet for a monthly parking tag for respectively vehicle. Also, if you should live out in the suburbs and hold to commute into the city, there will be the business of the toll system.
Like I said, I'm not trying to scare you, I a moment ago want you to be as informed as possible. Personally, I love Chicago. Given the right chance, I'd move to the downtown nouns in a heartbeat. But again, it's not for everyone. Look into it. Talk to populace. As I said, if you can, come up to your cousins for an extended visit, and see what each day (aka non-tourist) life is close to. If you feel that you can switch it, Chicago has soooo much to propose. Chicago is a big city so who it is really depends on where on earth you live some areas are safe but some are not a place a 14 year aged would be safe at adjectives. you need to examine the nouns before you move within. The schools surrounded by Chicago are not really the best in the state, some of them do not come together the standards of the "No child left behind". You can ride a bus to university if you want. If you want to have your daughter stir to a good university you could always turn to a suburb near chicago and commute to work.
