I lived within El Cajon for 4 years. As far as country line dance, not much in El Cajon.
Temecula have a great place called "The Stampede" Its intensely far from El Cajon though.
El Cajon is not a nice place, I would stay away from it. Lots of crime.
looking for things to do while in San Diego.. I'd for sure right to be heard The zoo because it is world famous for gosh sakes! :)
Also, deep-sea world.. even though it is expensive.. it is one of those places you gotta see once just to speak you've been in that.
Downtown San Diego is wonderful. great nightlife. The Gaslamp district, and Oldtown are great!
La Jolla is beautiful, One of the most good-looking beaches I hold ever been to.. Lots of great shopes/dining too.

El cajon aint that unpromising, it used to be. Its a lot better in a minute, i just moved here in the order of 3 months ago and was pleasently surprised. Are you staying next to family or friends? If not you could do better as far human being closer to the action.

I live in El Cajon and near isn't much to do here. As for country western dancing, try In Cahoots. It is surrounded by San Diego, in the Mission Valley nouns. It is a club that caters to Country Western music and is well-known by those of us who love this humane of music. Also try contacting KSON or US95.7 radio stations. They are the country music stations here and they might be able to relate you some other fun places where you can find this type of dance. They also have websites you can check out.
