Best neighborhood surrounded by San Diego??
We will be moving to San Diego and I have a young at heart daughter.What area will be the best and safest nouns to move to?

If you have work surrounded by the city and you don't mind to communute I would suggest the north county. Poway, Rancho Bernardo, and Escondido areas are some good places to live. The closer you achieve to the city the worse it gets next to crimes and just plain part of living. Also stay away from the coast, a lot of drugs and gangster. I grew up contained by Escondido, joined the Marine Corps out of highshcool immediately bringing up my two daugter and my son in Escondido.

I would say Poway is a honourable area..Fletcher Hills is a nice nouns.right up the hill from El Cajon. Don't do down the hillock!! I would not do Casa De Oro either. La Jolla is nice and so is Del Mar but they are both expensive.I be born and raised contained by San Diego...lived there for 41 years...housing costs and living relocation drove us to TN. I really miss it there but simply way too expensive. Good Luck to you.. :)
I will be moving stern to San Diego next month! I grew up in that! Its an AWESOME city. I LOVE it! I am in FL very soon (was born here), but from the ages of 8-21 I was out in that (I am 22 now lol)
Poway is a Great town! Its geared more for family, and its less busy than other towns out near. Its sorta country living, I lived there most of the time I be out there, and I loved it! great school!
Also, Carlsbad is very nice!. Its a moment or two more expensive than other areas in San Diego, but you return with what you pay for.
Also, Del Mar is wonderful! Same as Carlsbad as contained by pricey.
And La Jolla (the most beautiful coast I have ever ever be to. Lots of toursits though). very expensive.

Stay away from East County. Lakeside/El Cajon/Sante/Chula Vista/National City/East Lake/Paradise Hills.. Lots of crime/bad reps.
People enjoy given you some really strange answers. Whoever said you could buy a house in Sorento Valley/Carmel Valley nouns for $490,000 must be on crack! A condo, maybe, but not a house.
La Jolla is pretty and ultraexpensive but not the best place to lift up a kid. Besides the drug problem mentioned by others, there's some major snobbery/competition re have more expensive stuff than everyone else. My friend's trying to raise suitable kids there and it's terribly difficult with 7 years olds crying that adjectives their friends have cell phones and their parents drive cars costing $90,000 so why can't they...it's comical. Besides, if you are watching the local news you'd know that La Jolla have multiple landslide prone areas, two areas there are sliding next to major property pull.
Poway area sounds best; Poway school are famously good.

Whoever said there's more crime close at hand the coast didn't know what they were discussion about. Oceanside have gangs but no gang at all surrounded by Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar, La Jolla. Pacific Beach is known for lots of drunken slowly night partiers of college age folks, NOT a well-mannered place to raise a kid.
Regarding EAstlake clause of Chula Vista, theyve had crucial drop in housing prices at hand so there are currently some biddable bargains contained by housing for sale. Eastlake is close to the boarder and so those who are snobby reject the nouns because of a higher concentration of Latinos surrounded by that area. But depending on your financial situation, that might be an nouns that has fully clad schools and amenities at a relatively affordable price. North County coastal nouns is wonderful..that's where I live...but if you hold a young daughter you may not own sufficient funds to live in this nouns. Much or all of the Rancho Bernardo nouns which is near Poway is fragment of Poway School district and might be more affordable than Poway but still has the biddable schools.
A lot of folks are recommend North County areas like Poway, Escondido, Carmel Valley, and Del Mar. These are great areas, but for the most quantity, at least a thirty minute drive into downtown San Diego. Some closer to an hour, and that's not counting morning or evening commuter traffic.
Clairemont or San Carlos are great areas if you hold a family/kids and don't want to be "outside" of San Diego. My wife and I lived in La Mesa for two years, and it be okay but not great. Also I work near the airport and don't close to a 30-45 minute commute. We've lived in Clairemont/Linda Vista for one and a partly years now (my brother lived here for a couple of years also), and we love this nouns. It's safe, family-oriented, and close adequate to the city itself. My aunt and uncle have lived contained by San Carlos for fifteen years and love it. It's even safer and more family orient than Clairemont, but it's a little farther from the city itself. La Jolla is probably the best nouns of San Diego, but also the most expensive (aside from Coronado). Clairemont is in north of 8, south of 52, east of 5, and west of 15: primarily the nouns where 163 and 805 intersect. San Carlos is north of 8, south of 52, east of 15, and west of 125.

I know this one, in the neighbourhood Valhalla High, or in Casa de Oro. I hold friends and family within both areas and I have lived contained by both. Enjoy yourself and yell, "Hello!!" from me, please.
La Jolla, of course, if you can afford it, specifically... ;o) Additionally, I'll echo what others own mentioned: the further away from Mexico, the BETTER. However, some of the more northern communities, although nice/safe/etc., will leave you beside QUITE a commute to the city, especially if you'll be working downtown.
Many own said to stay away from Chula Vista, but I disagree with this. If you step out to Eastlake, many different suburban communities are being built for a mortgage that will be smaller number than what you would be paying up in North County. I be raised surrounded by CV with line working for the police department and it's not as bad as folks think it is. I would completely recommend looking out here...many different communities, new school, great restaurants and even a new freeway. It would be a great place to live.
you obligation to take a look at the academy testing score which are online & published in the north county times every year. lasting school districts particularly rank greater than others.
it also depends where you will be commuting to for work. you can help yourself to the train from as far north as oceanside down to the city. if you're driving you obviously have need of to consider commute hassle time. if you work out of your home you have abundant more options..
also depends on your budget..do you want suburbs, acres of estate or a house by the sea?? roast is inland, fog is coastal..there's no one best neighborhood

EDIT: oceanside has flawless suburban neighborhoods which may be more affordable than other towns --even carlsbad has gang in parts of town & so do some other communities -- purely depends which side of the tracks so to speak...& even those areas many times are anyone revitalized into high lapse coastal communities. condos and attached homes are less expensive than single relations homes where ever.

San diego is a pretty not dangerous city, even the bad parts arent that impossible compared to Los Angeles.
The guy who said the closer to LA the better is wrong. Oceanside has a discouraging side, so does carlsbad.
Del Mar is nice.

Pacific Beach is the best. It is north of SD. Going a little farther north, La Hoya is great too.

Tierrasanta have everything you could want or need and it is secure. It is only 20 minutes from downtown San Diego.
To be honest everyone here is insisting La Jolla but truth is if youre willing top spend a million dollars on a home move about for it. And besides the pricing on homes, the neighboorhoods are not convenient to receive to. I was also raise with kids within La Jolla As well when i be younger and i would never raise my daughter within only because adjectives the kids do there are drugs.. mostly the cocaine and persciption drugs. i live and be raised contained by north east of La Jolla where the houses are affordable and secure. I live in the Carmel Valley/ Sorrento Valley nouns its a brand new nouns in common and its near the freeway. Houses in that run about 490-500K... angelic luck and welcome home!
