i know its all expensive but whats the lest expensive island to time off on and what is an affordable resort?

First thing: Flying from where on earth? Oahu is most likely the cheapest island. The other islands are thoroughly expensive as I have found out. I in recent times booked an Eight night leave for myself and my gf. Found a nice hotel/condo for about $2000.00 for the 8 night, just stale the beach surrounded by Waikiki. Could have done it for smaller quantity, but decided on a nicer Hotel as our airfare be only $15.00 for 2 r/t First Class tickets.(I used Frequent Flier Miles to bring airline tickets so we spent a little more on hotel). Saw that the hotels avg in the order of $120.00 per night depending on where on earth you want to stay, on the beach is much more expensive, also a cheaper hotel near an ocean picture can get expensive, suffer for a time and take the city scenery and save in the region of 30% of the cost of an ocean vision.
Aifare: watch for the specials on the travel websites, can draw from it pretty cheap depending on when you wish to travel.
